Not a terrible hostel but certainly not a great one either. With there being so many options for hostels in Barcelona, I'm sure you can find a better one for the money. Pretty beat up, old hostel. Was nice to have a private room for fairly cheap but I'm sure you could do better. Probably would do more searching next time.

Our first night we had to spend in a rather bad room with a window facing a ventilation shaft. It felt prison-like. After that we asked for a new room and without any problems we received a new one with a balcony facing the main road. The staff was mostly friendly with some exceptions. Unfortunately, there where some problems concering warm water in the showers and the wifi (only on the ground floor). Nevertheless, the hostel has an excellent position and you can reach everything by foot.

Clean hostel. Wifi was in a small section and everyone crammed to try and use it so that could have been communicated better. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, day staff were helpful. Fan and heater in room as well as two large lockers. Breakfast was sparse but free so muffins and bread for nothing is still good. The gothic quarter is beautiful so was a great location and could walk into town. Lift up to level 5 which was great :-)
