Just find a different hostel, if barca wasn't such a great city, this hostel could really ruin your stay

Positive points: good location, cheap for the standards of Barcelona and breakfast satisfying. Negative points: room like a prison cell= very small and there was only one window which did not even open( no sun in the room), only one toilet for the entire floor, bathroom not convenient to have a shower, very noisy in the morning, blankets seemed old and dirty

Good hostel for a good price! The location is great, and the receptions were nice. We especially liked the young lady with curly hair and glasses, who was very helpful when we asked her about some info regarding the Museu maritim.

It was a nice accomodation, clean and very near at whatever you need! I advice Hostel New York, for people whant's to feel free in Barcellona!

The hostel was very noisy. When the breakfast started you can't sleep anymore. Breakfast is poor, rooms are very small. Location is fine and 24/7 open. Average hostel.

Pro: Just by stepping out of the door you can go for a short walk in the old city (do it at night!). In my case the staff proved to be friendly and helpful (maybe because i tried to use my Spanish?). Breakfast included. Contra: Each time your neighbour closes the door it bangs after a long creak witch you can hear loud and clear: after 8 am no sleep. Bedclothes are not included in the price. Summary: If you don't have high comfort requirements, the location worth the price.

Hostel has a good location, you can walk around the city and see a lot of attractions. It is near to La Rambla and to the sea. Staff there is really kind and helpfull. It is also very important that it is clean.

Very friendly staff!

Everything was great for such a cheap hostel. The only problem we had was the door in the room next to us as it was squicking everything somone left. Unfortunately for us people leaving in this room were up almoust the whole night.

First of all, hostel is in the center, but it is really hard to find it. Then the staff was really impolite, especially the woman in the kitchen, she was rude. The breakfast was poor(2 peaces of cracker, 1 biscuit, 1 margarine or honey, and only one glass or cup of juice, coffee, milk).Then the bathrooms and toilets were not that clean and to be worse than this, there wasn't any hot water. Rooms are very small and beds aren't comfortable for tall people (they are small)and rooms are pretty dirty

hot water; staff was nice and helped me out when I couldn't find my passport; had good pillows and blankets, but our heating didn't work; bathrooms needed soap, but everything was pretty clean. suuuper close to the beach!!

The man at the night counter was friendly; it was a pleasure to takl to him. The lady who gave out the breakfast did not seem to be in a good mood - what would she need to be a little happier?

it would be great, if the kitchen worker women would be more friendly and with a little smile in her face:), that she could understand similar words ir english, as "orange or apple juice" (..)

Very much a you get what you pay for experience. I was only in Barcelona for the half marathon so had no issues with the basic facilities of the place. Probably wouldn't pick this place to go away with a girlfriend though. The downsides were the lack of a common room with tv or books and that the WiFi only works by reception. On the plus side it's cheap, in a really good location and the staff are friendly and helpful.

We were satisfied, I could recommend it.We spent 4 nights in this average low-budget hostel. Our twin room was tiny but clean. Only negative: group of young, otherwise sweet children(~11y) were really loud(first evening)A couple of drunken guys were also terrible assholes on the other nights(between 2-3am!) The staff, hot water, cleanliness, lovation was asbsolutely ok.

In Room 208 you could smell the sewerage very good

Very clean hotel but we got our purses stolen and did not get any help from the hotel. Nobody asked us how we were and if we needed help... The staff was in average quite unfriendly. Good point is the unlimited access to internet and the location. The free use of the kitchen is practical because the food is quite expensive in Barcelona. In average, it was OK for the price, too bad that the staff does not care about the clients.

great hostel, very well located, great staff! there is no common room, which makes fun a little low. very clean, in spite of the old furniture.
