Extremely nice staff. Great facilities. Location is central to nice restaurants and about 5-10 minute walk from "downtown"

This place is really something special. The old house has been restored with lots of love and the hostel is run by a very friendly married couple. The atmosphere of living in the old town in this hostel remains unmatched for my trip to Bulgaria.

Despite arriving on a cold, rainy day, I was instantly warmed by the personal greeting I got when I set foot in the Old Plovdiv Guesthouse - both from the owner and from a handchalked sign at the desk. The place itself was a fantastic, atmospheric 19th century home that made a perfect base to explore the the Old Town. One of the nicest places I have stayed in the Balkans, and hope to return someday!

This place was excellent. First, the owner is a great guy. When I was traveling to Plovdiv from another city 4 hours away, he came a picked me up and drove me to the guest house. On top of that, the train was about 40 min late (very typical for Bulgarian trains) and he stayed and waited for me. When I arrived I felt as if I was stepping back to the 1900s with the decoration style, it was really nice. My room was massive. I recommend this to place to anyone and I will stay here again.

I have stayed in a lot of hostels around the world but this is THE BEST one so far. I would definitely recommend it. The rooms were amazing, they were clean and the best part was the friendly staff.

Hostel Old Plovdiv is more like a classy bed and breakfast than a hostel! Each person receives a warm welcome when they arrive and the hospitality remains throughout the entire visit! When I arrived it was quite chilly out side and right after checking in, I was offered a cup of tea to help warm up! Later that evening when I went out, the staff offered an umbrella for me to use and recommended a nice place to eat supper! The beds are comfortable, the rooms warm, and the atmosphere is amazing!

I felt like I was staying in an expensive hotel rather than a hostel. This hostel is in a great location and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I didn't have to worry about a thing during my stay! Also, they have great showers and bathrooms...HOT WATER.

As soon as I enter there's a blackboard welcoming me (I think they put it in your mother language as well). I was immediately offered a cup of tea by Hristo, the owner/manager. There are plenty of hostels offering free tea, but few where the staff make it for you when you say you're thirst! The building is gorgeous and I had a 2 bed dorm for ten euro a night. The shower was enormous, breakfast was great, and all in all it was a wonderful stay. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Plovdiv.

This "hostel" was beyond amazing. We had a hard time even referring to it as a hostel. The style of the place made us want to stay in and drink coffee or wine more than go out- which is not a way that I feel about most hostels. The owner was super nice and the staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast was great, and I liked that they served breakfast rather than setting up a buffet- it was a nice touch. Every detail of the place added to the atmosphere in some way. The shower was AMAZING!

Hostel Old Plovdiv is amazing! It is like a 5 star boutique hotel but at an affordable local price. This place is great value for money and when you stay there it is like you are staying in a an old, stylish and traditional Bulgarian house. The staff are super nice and they always go the extra mile for their guests The location of the hostel is also very good as it is in the middle of the old Plovdiv town - a very beautiful and cultural place to be! I definitely recommend Hostel Old Plovdiv!

My stay at Hostel Old Plovdiv was very enjoyable. The staff were great, they really went out of their way to make my holiday as comfortable as possible. The location is fantastic; right in the middle of the Old Town. The hostel itself was very tidy and comfortable, the bathrooms were very big, modern, and spotlessly clean - and the antique furniture in the bedrooms and common areas add a lot of character. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone travelling to Plovdiv.
