Staff sold us tickets for Playa Blanca for 50 pesos saying it was the cheapest but we found out when we got there that existed a boat for 15 pesos. Also, it's ridiculous to charge to keep your luggage after staying there for two nights!

i only spent a night at this hostel, but it was a nice experience! nice bedrooms, confortable beds, nice and clean bathrooms, great livingroom. it's located in front of Trinidad squre so you're close to everything!
The staff was incredible. Ana was so welcoming when I got there and gave me great recommendations for night life. I'm also very thankful to Luryz and Jonathan. Luryz helped with all my zillions of questions and worked together with Jonathan to find the best possible plan for my beach trip since my flight left shortly after. Jonathan made calls and specially arranged everything, going above and beyond. I am very thankful. The maintenance staff was also very friendly, like Meli. She was so nice!
The staff is nice. Is just that the cleaning ladies are always around and start talking quite loud in the morning. And every time that someone is showering they go after them to clean the bathroom. A bit too much! But the rooms are clean and with air conditioning at night . Breakfast is included but not the best. The location is nice: next to a small square, which at night is full of young people drinking and meeting each other. It's also quite close to the old town : 5 min walk from there.

The location is great usually, but they are tearing up the road outside so now it is quite loud. And yes, they have one bed too many in the rooms- very cramped with luggage and the bathroom isn't kept clean. Air con is great though ineffient without glass windows. Beds very comfy and awesome pillows- even staying in the weird middle be was great. The Playa Blanca tour sold here was awesome, as well!
Nice chilled small hostel, not a big party place but clean with a good breakfast, and well located on the buzzing Trinidad square, 10/15 min walk to the centre.
In a great location, seconds from the main square in Getsemani, but the hostel was still nice and quiet at night. It's a small place but very friendly and kept extremely clean, with good air con and pretty comfy beds. There's a lovely big lounge, but the atmosphere was lacking a bit, I didn't find it very easy to meet people here.
Hostel Papaya was one of my best hostel experiences. It is really calm but you just need one to do one step out of the hostel and you get also an amazing Cartagena party vibe. The people are really polite, thee food is good, the bathrooms have more than a hostel standard and it's not that big, so that it's really familiar. If I would go again to Cartagena, I would defenitely book a bed in Hostel Papaya!

hey I like place (closeby walled city) and the always bustling trinidad square However I would like give next feedback: - Wi fi is completely unreliable (slow, poor coverage). For travellers it is one of the most important item (to be connected either fun / work/ talk to other countries). Please phase out this residential connection and contract a professional high speed broadband service -Altough site is cleaned every day, there is a impressive amount of mosquitoes around. Fumigate pls
Water pressure in one of the toilets - the one closest to the kitchen - was very weak and I had to move to the other one to finish my shower, which was very inconvenient.
Rooms are very small. Air con only comes on late in evening until morning. Very few facilities, good location in getsemani area.
Nice little hostel very close to the old town. Only negative would be the amount of plug sockets per dorm. Nice laid back atmosphere and easy to meet other backpackers
Overall great experience! walking distance to walled city and main attractions in Cartagena Very well cleaned and ventilated One suggestion: improve WiFi coverage and speed :)
Hostel was fairly loud in the mornings, the staff seemed to shout at one another from the kitchen at one end to the reception at the other. The hang out room was comfy! Breakfast was average. Something egg related (hard boiled/scrambled with ham, toast, with a slice of fruit. Average stay, nothing to write home about. Quite expensive, but all of the area is. 3 tier beds that attach, which is annoying when the top bunk brings someone home and all the other 5 people are along for the ride.
Very clean en very well maintained hostel. There aren't a lot of showers and toilets though, which can be an annoyance. Breakfast is great and different every day, and the square in front of the hostel is awesome at night! Everything is very close, and the staff is very friendly. Biggest con: the wifi is very slow and it is impossible to skype home...
