I gave a very poor rating to this hostel, but I did not stay here. I saw other reviews of some poor people who were turned away when they got there, and I went ahead and booked anyway, thinking it would not happen to me. I was wrong. When I arrived the receptionist was nowhere to be found, and a resident of the building had to go get her. Once she arrived she told me there was a "plumbing" problem in my room, and they sent me elsewhere for MORE money. Do not book this hostel.

I often stay in Hostels but I rarely write reviews as most of my comments and ratings would be the median therefore adding nothing. But I can honestly say that this is one of, if not the best hostel I've had the privilege of staying in. The owners are very helpful, friendly, really make the place feel like home and take the time to get to know you on a personal level. Can't speak highly enough of this place and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a home whilst staying in Nice.

Very nice stay there, would recommend friends to stay there in the future. Room is large and clean, each person has a reading light and power cord. Good location to train station to explore the nearby towns. Has a nice kitchen and terrace where you can relax. Suggest to have a couple of chairs in room for upper floor beds, otherwise we can only climb to the second floor even not during sleep time. Also recommend the hotel to install a whole body mirror in room.

Staff always accomodating and friendly! Rooms are clean and have a nice shower, only thing i would change would be to put a toilet in the rooms, but other than that I highly recommend this hostel! Good location, very close walk from the train station and about a 10-15 min walk from the nice beaches. Cool roof terrace and great kitched stocked with anything you would need. Great stay, good company, and would definately come back again!

Fantastic hostel! It's pretty noisy on the weekends and there are quite a few partyers. It's also noisy because it's 1 block away from the train station, so there's lots of traffic noise. 2 mins away from train station, 10 mins away from beach SUPER friendly staff, nice kitchen, your room has a personal fridge and bathroom and lockers w/ a key provided for you. Free towel and free wifi. Generally clean, but there were some ants on the floor in my room.

After a rather disastrous trip, our stay in Nice was the best part, due largely to the Hotel Pastoral. The hotel is on the first sketchy street off of the main avenue, but close enough to the main avenue that you can just slide in. That being said, it's unbelievably close to the train station and more or less a straight shot to the beach. While I certainly wouldn't call it luxurious, the owners were very nice and the atmosphere in the common areas (kitchen and terrasse) was great.

I liked so much. I just think that the entrance could be better. I was really scared when I arrived, after talk with the recepcionist i got better, then, I saw that is a good hostel. I suggest for everyone, but don't worry about your first see.

The staff here are awesome. It's near the GARE SNCF. And it's about 10 minutes walk to the seaside. I really enjoy my stay there.

I had problems with some of the people in my room and the staff was happy to move me to another room. So that was nice.

Dorm rooms were clean and kitchen area is a nice place to hang out. Courtyard is a also very nice. Staff is very helpful. Helped us find a hostel as we only had a booking for one night. Excellent location (5 min from the station) and 10min walking to the old city. Definitely recommend if you're coming to Nice.

I loved my stay at Hostel Pastoral!! I made amazing friends at the hostel, it was very clean, nice kitchen and outside terrace, super close to the train station, and the staff was fantastic! They treated me like family and were more than willing to help give me advice and even clean a stain from my pants (Thanks mom)! Very friendly and I would definitely recommend this hostel (and already have) to my friends.
