This hostel is close to be an amazing hostel. Staff is the only issue or I was truly unlucky. There are too many rules we everywhere and the lady isn't that friendly at first sight. Location is awesome for those who wanna be close to the airport - less than 10 mins away by can (~15 reais). Let the lady be nicer and this place will be pretty cool.

Hostel Piratas do Sol is a convinient hostel but lacks the atmosphere. The staff is not so helpfull but and the hostel was empty. Rooms are good and well cleaned. Our stay was good because we had a good rest after a long travel.

Basic hostel is a decent location not too far (about 10 min) walk from the beach. None of the staff speak English but have a willingness to use google translate to help you.

Mainly the staff I had a problem with. Always arguing with each other and the people who are looking for a place to stay. Jerks all around. Way too expensive for what they offer. Not even a small meal in the morning. Will definately not go back here and do not recommend.

The front door was a bit hard to find but once I entered the place was very nice. I had to prove my reservation speaking in portuguese, but once I did, the staff was very helpful and friendly. I was only laying over in recife so I didnt see or do much in the hostel. The owners drove me to the bus terminal for a good price in the morning. I would definitely stay there if in Recife again. Very nice place

Before you say hi, they ask for money. The day I was leaving they remembered me 3 times that the check out was at 11, they push you to leave. On sunday, the brazilian serving the breakfast was so NICE, she the best of the Hostel.

Perfectly clean and calm, so good choice for families and people who wants to stay alone. For the others (travelers, students..), you will feel very bored, the atmoshere is not good and the owner not very nice.

Very clean and pretty high standard hostel which is in a good location for the airport and walking distance from the beach. Very quiet when I was there. Lockers and fridge in room. Decent beds. Staff don't speak a word of English and there are lots of annoying petty rules pasted up on every wall (e.g you are not allowed to fill bottles from the water cooler) as well as CCTV cameras in every room except the bedrooms. A lot of money for what it is but little competition in the area.

Apart form the high prize for a locker I didn't find fault with the hostel and I'd recommend it.

Good location, close to the beach, to the market, bus stop and shopping center. The dorms are clean and there is a good balcony to relax. Staffs can't speak english and they don't have any information about touristic places (they don't have a map!) - the information center is not far way.

Really good breakfast with nice staff. This is definitely not a party hostel though. Great for families and people wanting a quiet stay. Not far from beach or a supermarket. Nice restaurants nearby and the staff can recommend places to go.

The staff was INCREDIBLY helpful!! Very clean and relaxed!

I stayed there for two nights and it was a nice Hostel. Small but cozy it had a decent breakfast. The owners were great and took me to the Rodoviaria when I left (at a fee of course, a little cheaper then a taxi). I'm not sure if it is because of the time of year but there were not many travelers. I wish I could speak Portuguese a little better. I understand a lot and can speak enough to get by, but striking up a conversation with the people was quite daunting. All in all a nice place to stay.

Great hostel as regards cleanliness and security! (a bit too much) It was a little difficult to find it as there is no signs on the door. Hostel is huge and it has big common areas, nice and clean. Càssie the lady is just great! If you really need to learn Portuguese talk to her! Very helpful and warm! We did love her! Best breakky ever!

very good

The hostel was a bit hard to find, but the staff was super-nice, it was safe and clean, the place has two nice terraces where you can relax, you get a home-cooked breakfast which includes the best pineapple I´ve ever had. It´s a 30 minute walk to the airport and has good connections to the long distance bus terminal. I would stay here again.

Very nice and clean hostel. Familiar atmosphere, so if you are after a partying hostel this is not the place for you. Showers were clean, beds were made twice a day, breakfast was also good, walking distance to Boa Viagem beach hotspots and there is a number of bars and restaurants close by too. The only downside is that you have to ring a bell to get the owners to open the front door for you everytime you want to go out and the same rule applies when you want to get in. Overall experience was good.

I would not recommend that anyone stay here

A really nice hostel which feels more like a family home (big tv, internet, sofas and friendly atmosphere). If you speak portuguese you will find the hostess VERY friendly and informative. It is in a perfect location (10mins to the beach, 15min to the airport, buses to everywhere on the doorstep) - worth emphasising this as makes life alot easier! Overall a very plesant stay.

Very nice person but impossible to discuss with her: only Portuguese spoken.
