We went to the Deluxe Double Bed Private room and i was thinking it is a "delux room". But the fan and the air condition was noisy. At the restroom we could not close the window and the door. All in all a good place to stay, near to the beach, busstation and very save area. Absolut cool staff and helpful. Nice restaurants on the corner. We went also last year in this hostel and i will stay again.

Unfriendly staff, no atmosphere at all. A very boring place to stay there are many better hostels around wouldnt stay in this one again!

Very bad hostel with serious problems. There's a very serious lack of security : all my stuff had been stolen in my room, like my camera, passport, ipod, money. it was guys from my room and when i told the hostel about my robbery, they didn't do anything. They didn't even care about this actually. No help, no discount for the other nights. Do not go to this hostel

One particular reception staff member was very very unhelpful and looked like he did not want to be there. The location is good but if you are looking for a proper backpacker hostel look elsewhere. Some fellow travellers got nailed by bedbugs only to be given an unsympathetic response and some "fresh" bedsheets. This is a classic example of a backpackers not run by backpackers, there are so many options in Salvador, dont sell yourself short with this one.

We spent 5 days in porto hostel and had an amazing time! The location was perfect and the staff were so friendly and helpful. There is great activities set up for all hostel goers and I would definitely recommend the pub crawl. Daniello, one of the staff members came on the pub crawl and made sure we had a great night, he made it feel like we were out with our friends from home. I have nothing but good things to say about Porto hostel. 100% great choice of hostel :)

The hostel is really good. Location is awesome (Barra is the best neighborhood to stay - you have buses to go everywhere in the city) and the hostel it's just in front of a supermarket. My room had air-conditioning, a private bathroom and lockers but you need your own padlock (you can buy one there though). The atmosphere is really good, I made a lot of friends. The breakfast was really good too, hotel style. The hostel has TV, cleaning room and two computers for common use. Totally recommended.

The staff were friendly. I did receive some questionable suggestions. I was traveling alone and was told to go to a bar on my own that was pretty awkward as a foreigner on her own. The people staying at the hostel weren't very friendly and it wasn't much of a party atmosphere. Not the Porto Salvador's fault but I thought I should mention it. Overall, a good place to stay in Salvador. The location was great.

This Hostel is great in all the senses, well located in Porto da Barra Beach, safe, clean and has a very helpful crew (Danilo and all the guys from the reception were really helpful and friendly). I absolutely reccomend everyone to stay there. The breakfest was also good, for R$ 10 you got a nice variety of juices, cereals, fruits, bread and cold cuts. Towels and bed linen were very clean and new. Every room has a locker and you can stow your personal belogings safely inside.

Very well located, near main bus stop, restaurants, beach and in front of a supermarket. Staff was very helpful, all of them. Kitchen and breakfast are great. I stayed in a double room with my bf, so as far as security I was fine. However, I missed theexistance of lockers for whomever is travelling alone. I's not a party hostel, is more of a laid back sort of style, good for couples. Hammocks, TV room and a nice area outside. If you can, stay on the 1st floor, because of balcony n internet .

the hostel was actually kind of boring, there was no personality to it at all. the added extras the hostel provided were not like they said, the internet was horrible, so slow, computers dont run very well, i couldnt read my emails. dont be fooled by thinkng they have a gym, the picture they have of one workout machine, is all they have, THATS NOT A GYM LOL. they will charge you for breakfast too! ridiculous! staff look disinterested, bored and dont really care to help so much!

I love this hostel! 5 minutes from the beach, 20-30 from the city center, the bilingual staff is absolutely helpful. The breakfast is not included you have to pay 10 Reales but it is defenetely the best hostel breakfast of Brazil!!!!!! The rooms are clean and ok for a backpacker hostel. Just make sure that you use earplugs during the night. It is probably the best hostel for this price in Salvador...

Staff were generally disinterested in going beyond pointing out the bus stop. There was one girl on the last day we were there that was really helpful (she has glasses, look out for her). Breakfast was good and the place was clean and safe.
