This hostel is fantastic albeit a bit pricey but this is to be expected in Cancun. Breakfast and dinner is included and it taste great. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. We had a 3 person private room with en-suite, good size room, was fairly clean but beds were not very comfy.

Loved it. An oasis of cool people and nice staff in tourist trap Cancun. Nice starting point for your trip.

A good party place and easy to meet people. Downside very noisy and lots of drunk people. We had an ensuite however the shower was cold and only had a very small trickle of water. Wouldn't recommend nothing with extra money for ensuite. Breakfast & dinner were both good.

Our second stay at Quetzal. Monica, Julio and Luis do everything to make us feel at home. Supper each night with World travelers from all over the World and of all ages is simply GREAT! The Chef, Blanco Rosendo prepared wonderful meals every night with an incredible Chicken with orange sauce one of the nights. Julio and his staff made breakfast every morning no matter what time we showed up. This place, Hostel Quetzal IS the BEST! Sidney & Judi Kaye

Fun place to stay with a nice social vibe and the sweetest and most accommodating staff. Really good dinner and breakfast included. We left before breakfast started for a tour and Julio made us a delicious hot breakfast to go.

This is a really good hostel! The owner is so nice and take good care of you, make you feel like home! The free dinner is awesome and you all sit around the same table and eat as a family, so nice :) I planned to stay there only one night but ended up for 3 nights, only coz of the good wibe at the hostel :) It's most of the time full booked, so book ahead! This place make it worth staying in Cancun for some extra nights!

Fantastic staff - gave me a bed early when they saw I was falling asleep in the common room after my red-eye flight. Great location just off the central plaza. Arranged my Chichen Itza travel with no problems. Breakfast and dinner provided were tasty (and vegetarian-friendly) and made for a great atmosphere as everyone ate together. My bed was directly under the air conditioner, needed blanket - it was also so uncomfortable that I actually have bruises from the bars under the mattress.

The stuff was very friendly and the room was nice in the top floor. Breakfast was otherwise Ok, but the coffee was horrible. Good value for money indeed! The room was a bit noisy, that is my only complain, but of course it is not the hostel´s fault that there was a big "fiesta" every night in near by market area.

The breakfasts and dinners were amazing as well as super cheap drinks! staff were very helpful and even went to the trouble of providing early breakfasts when we were leaving on early morning tours. Really great atmosphere for meeting other travellers.

It was my first hostel ever in a continent I´d never been before and I arrived after a 15 hour flight. It could not have been better. Monica showed me the dorm, I picked my bed and could then join dinner outside, which was really Mexican and really good. The atmosphere is great there. Location good too. A big Mexican supermarket closeby, a square where there´s always something to do and see, day and night. A relaxed place. Will be back here again. (But next time, please, new matrasses!)

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, one of the best hostels I have stayed in. Clean rooms, clean facilities, lovely common area. Food and staff were fantastic, not one negative thing to say. Quetzal Hostel you rock!! Thank you very much for everything x

Breakfast and dinner included, very average quality cooking, extremely slow service, an hour's waiting for dinner to be served. Dinner at 8pm but serving arrived at 9pm. New Year's Eve waited till 10pm for meal to arrive!! One customer was left without anything to eat and was still waiting after everybody's finished! It would be much better if meals are self-serve. Recommended tours are pricey; however, staff is helpful with information.
