Hostel Quinta Playa was my first stop on my extended trip around Latin America and it left a tough act to follow. The location was very convenient just a block from the Bus station and very close to the beach. But by far my favourite thing about this hostel was the people. I met some great people here both travellers and staff who were nothing but helpful and friendly. If you are a diver, I highly recommend organizing it through the hostel, speak to Che - both company and dive were perfect!

Hostel is just by the old ADO bus station (there is two ADO bus station new one is away) and in the center.. A few minutes to the beach and a few min. to main road where all rest. and bars are.. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms dont have keys and beds are really uncomfortable.

There are no windows in the rooms, so it is very dark. It also smells like mold. The swimming pool was not clean and the beds were very uncomfortable. There are no keys to lock the room, so literally everybody from outside could just walk into the rooms which I foud strange. The hostel is very close to the beach, Av 5, ans ADO Bus Station.

I've been to 29 countries and 5 continents.... Hostel Quinta Playa is the best hostel I've stayed in. Best location in Playa Del Carmen, extremely clean and amazing showers ;-)

The mexican girl at the front desk was so unfriendly that everybody hated her. But the rest of the staff was friendly and very open minded. In total quinta playa is a good hostel but the rooms do not have windows so it is very smelly when 6 drunken men are in one room :-) There should be a clothes line to try the beach clothes. The location of the hostel is very good!

The women working at reception during the day had a really bipolar personality. Sometimes she was really friendly then others she was extremely rude towards guests. By altering the staff during the day and doing up the rooftop as a bar, this would be an amazing hostel.

Staff didn't know anything about the area or where to go and couldn't be bothered finding out. They need locks on the rooms as anyone can walk in off the street and get it and to clean the pool they also had a great roof top area than they could do something with but haven't. I wouldn't stay there again

Where to start?? Completely disorganized. Lost reservation. Tried to charge to leave bags in cupboard while they checked us in for another night. A guy sneaked in and stayed and we were threatened with paying for their stay. Even though he didn't stay in our dorm. I rarely review places but this was not enjoyable.

The hostel was very nice. At only 30meters of the beach and only one and a half blocks from bus station. Location is excellent! The people who works there are very nice!

Everything was great. The pillows are small and thin and the mattress was crunchy but what else can you expect from the price. Very clean!
