There are hostels that make you feel as though you are part of an integral aspect of the city. This hostel is not like that, because it is simply so much better. Ali, Yussine and Madeleine all work seamlessly and effortlessly to create a unique experience that is always inclusive, always relaxed, and friendly in a positively familial way. Great work, guys. I'll be back.

Really friendly hostel with welcoming staff and people staying there. Good location 2 minutes walk from the big square and all the advice and facilities you need. Great character inside and fun to chill on the roof terrace. Really good vibe and would really recommend staying here to experience Marrakech properly .

This is one of the best hostels we've encountered in 7 months travel. Ali (the manager) and the whole team really make an effort to make hostel guests feel at home. The tours and information the hostel provides really helped us see the best of Marrakech. There's always a fun conversation to join in the common space, or you can relax and read on the beautiful rooftop terrace. Mint tea, shisha and breakfast are free (breakfast is huge and really delicious!) Thank you to all at Marrakech Rouge!

This hostel is the best we have stayed in. The atmosphere created by the riad layout, beautiful decor and more importantly the staff is second to none. All staff and owners will go out of their way to help you and make you feel at home and they help create a warm, friendly atmosphere. Facilities are very good, with extensive rooftop terrace and sociable common areas. We cannot reccommend this hostel enough and would love to come back.

The staff here was SO great! They really gave us the best recommendations of where to go and what to do, and they treated us like family, except they spoiled us more. (Ali even had ice creams delivered to us while we were at a Hammam!) There´s always mint tea and a hookah available and the place is being cleaned top to bottom every day. I can´t imagine our stay in Marrakesh would have been as good if we hadn´t stayed here. Only thing that was a little lacking was the # of bathrooms. Luvd it!

I had no idea breakfast was offered. Our room was not ventilated and extremely hot. We just slept with the doors wide open. Ali was a really nice guy and very helpful though. But, if "backpackers hostel" is a euphemism for a little on the rough side, its accurate.

Many thanks for your review, Lets start with the positives which appear to be a little hidden. Ali - who is always mentioned in guest reviews is indeed wonderful. No 'though' required. That you had no idea that breakfast was on offer is perhaps a little strange. Pan back on all the reviews and you will find the majority write about the included breakfast. Upon arrival - Ali (who is really helpful) tells you that breakfast is included and when you enter the court in the morning - you find lots of people eating breakfast. What a lovely surprise that breakfast is indeed offered! It is hot in Marrakech in the summer and we have no control over the sun or temperature, ma'shallah - but it is untrue to say there is no ventilation in the room. The obtuse ending to your review we interpret in a different way perhaps to your intended message. A hostel is not a clinical but less expensive version of a hotel. It is a house for everyone to meet, drink tea and feel at home. Welcome to Morocco hospitality at Marrakech Rouge. It is a place like no other, in a country like no other. Ham'doullah. The staff was very hospital and made us feel very welcome. Had a great time meeting the other people staying in the hostel and hanging out with them and the staff. Very comfortable and it felt like my own house, about to ask staff for tea and hookah whenever, and the breakfast was awesome. Great place to hang out when waling around in the hot sun became too much

I normally don’t bother adding a review, but in this case I feel that I have to in order to warn people. I felt that the mattresses and blankets date back to the French protectorate, but it was already quite late and that’s why I stayed. There weren’t even proper sheets and no pillow covers – absolutely disgusting. The towel was pretty smelly too.

Thanks so much for warning people about our French protectorate mattresses and blankets! We love your fusion of Moroccan history and political confict about the French Occupation of the Kingdom of Morocco. Brilliant comic effect and timing. However, may we point out that International Relations is slightly more complex than that. There is a great future for you in the arena of political satire, though colonial jokes in 2012 are don't you think, a little offensive?

We never normally write reviews but we really enjoyed our time in the Riad Marrakech Rouge. The rooms are pretty basic but the breakfast is MASSIVE and the staff are so genuinely friendly. We enjoyed drinking tea with them and relaxing on the terrace. The option to do brilliant excursions from the Riad was also good. Highly recommended for anyone on a budget who wants to get value for money.

I stayed in 2011 and returned in 2012, and was very satisfied both times. Very nice and accommodating staff, good quality of guests staying there, and problem-free. The ensuite bathrooms are not great, so for the price it's better to book the rooms with shared bathrooms. Other than that, it's all good.

The Marrakesh Rouge is perfectly located in the Medina of Marrakesh, just 2 minutes away from the main city placa and the famous Market. But the staff and the atmosphere are even more impressive. As soon as you enter the hostel you feel like a friend, not like a guest. You get offered tea and a shisha to calm down from the busy streetlife, especially as the hostel is not that easy to find. Conclusion: The best Hostel we've ever stayed in, defenitely coming back!

I really enjoyed my stay at Marrakech Rouge where the staff is amazingly warm and welcoming, the breakfast generous and the tea really minty. I also had the pleasure to cook a delicious tagine with a lovely lady and to have my hair cut by another lovely lady. I highly recommend the Marrakech Rouge for the quality of hospitality experienced there and hope to be able go back again. Thank you.

no word is enough to say how relaxing and comfortable we were when staying at Marrakech Rouge Riad. when you travel to a country which is totally different in every terms of language, traditions, culture, the helpful guides of Ali, Yasrin and the tall guy (we are so sorry that we dont know your name dear :( ) are far beyond our expectations. we completely felt like being at home here. thank so much again for your wonderful hosting and wish you guys all the best. This hostel was amazing. I'm not normally one to review or even make resrevations in advance but got told it would be a good idea for marrakech. I'm so glad I did. The staff are the warmest and most genuine I've ever met, the decoration eccentric and colourful and breakfast - the best start to the day you can have I reckon! The next time I come back to marrakech (and I will definitely come back) - I will be staying here - and for much longer. Thanks for making my trip so special.
