The owner, Malek and his team did everything possible to make my stay here perfect, so much that I came back 3 seperate times. The rooftop terraces are brilliant, the showers were hot and great. Everything is always clean and looking perfect. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back, but know in advance it is down a small dark alleyway but well worth it!

Showers did not work properly. Had very unpleasant showers throughout the stay as water was very temperamental - either freezing cold or scalding hot. Bathroom on the terrace flooded so we had to go to the bathroom on another floor - not something we wished to do in the middle of the night. Terrace room was ok but so noisy from other guests on terrace.

The Hostel is very close to the place djmaalfna. It is very easy to find, the breakfast is fantastic, the terasse is th best place to relax and enjoy the sun. I never saw a beautiful chill out lounge before like this. Abdula and Malik are the best host I have ever had during my trips. You can meet so many people from other country and I felt always welcome

Probably the best hostel I have stayed in to date. Staff were fantastic, facilities were great and so was the wi-fi and general atmosphere. The rooftop provided a calm escape from the frantic pace of Marrakech and the never ending supply of green tea helped as well.

An oasis of relaxation in the middle of hectic Marrakech. Relax on the rooftop with fellow travellers, or smoke chicha in the lounge. Recommended!

Great place to relax after the hustle and bustle of the city! Staff are very friendly. Hostel is in a good location in the old city (hidden away down a back street). The hostel felt very safe and the roof terrace was perfect to chill out after a busy day.

Ice cold showers... need to add signage to the outside alleyways to help locate the property (other riads do this in Morocco so they are easy to locate)... the email wasn't enough for proper directions

Hi there, 'The email wasn't enough for proper directions'. How did you find the youtube video which gives you written, visual and moving image directions from Place D'Jeema el Fna? Or perhaps 2 hostel phone numbers with guidance to contact should you wish to be collected from Cafe de France in the main square? Or the map (attached with the email) with step-by-step directions? We are not sure, aside from private helicopter taking you from your own house directly to the terrace of the hostel, there is much more information we can give you. It is indeed easy to get lost in Marrakech - some people consider this to be part of the adventure - that is why we provide so many different options in that email that you received. Best wishes for future travels to all!

I have marked poor for security as the " safe " consisted of one man standing in front of a curtain although I felt my belongings to be more than secure at all times and the morrocan people to be very honest and generous

Hi Jake, Your first sentence is brilliantly comic, but unfortunately untrue. Why would the hostel hire someone to stand in front of a curtain? Not a great use of human resources surely. There is a large safe for valuables, and there are also 24/7 security cameras at the entrance to ensure safety of guests walking down the street. Despite this comic imagery we are please that regardless, you felt completely secure. Happy future travelling!

I'm giving this hostel a perfect score, not because it is necessarily perfect, but because it comes so highly recommended. The atmosphere created by the decor, music, and staff is so relaxed & comfortable. The beds are nice, free breakfast is delightful, internet connection strong. Great rooftop terrace. The staff has really gone out of their way for me- going out to get medicine when I got sick and cooking me lunch at no charge. Best hostel I've ever stayed in, others pale in comparison.

Dear April, Thanks for taking the time to write lovely things. Those seeking perfection in any aspect of life will often be disappointed! There is no such thing - which is why we as people are all different and unique, and comparably (tenuous as the connection is...) hostels too. None are perfect, but they all have their own characters, nuances and foibles - or they would all be identical and that would be a little dull! Travelling is often what the individual makes it, the rapport between guests and staff. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Best wishes from everyone at Marrakech Rouge
