In a great spot just a few blocks from the beach. We stayed in a private room which was great except for the crowd of smoking, drinking Israelis who were right outside our room every night in the "common area". Not much of a hostel vibe unless you speak Hebrew...

The hostel has almost 99% Israelis guests. if you have a problem with it, its not for you, Fernanado and Lusiana are wonderful.

Great location its an easy walk to the beach. The security was great, you have to hit the buzzer at night and a staff member checks to make sure you are a guest there. The rooms are very large with plenty of space and the lockers under the beds work great. Bathrooms were clean with plenty of room. Staff was great. Good breakfast in the morning too. I have stayed at hostels all over the world. This was the best one I have stayed at.

Upon arrival the receptionist only spoke Portuguese, Spanish or Hebrew and did not do anything to understand our English. Fortunately I speak a little bit of Portuguese otherwise it would have been impossible to check-in, not a very nice welcome after a long and tiring flight. Room was too small for 9 people, with all the backpacks there was little room to move. Positive was the ac and the lockers. They receive a lot of guests from Israel en really focus on this. Did not like to stay here.

The hostel needs to have facilities in place to be able to cope with a large influx of backpackers. During the week before carnival, it was like mayhem, with insufficient bedding, breakfast and very chaotic. Also, the fact that there is only limited access to the kitchen was not ideal.

dthe only two veru nice things about this hostel are the location and the staff. The rooms are very small and despite what is shown on the web site the breakfast is very poor. Moreover, the dining room is very, very small and there is no more place for 8 people together. In fact many people had to wait for the others to be finisched! therefore if you prefere wide spaces do not go there.Anyway the common are is nice, there are 6 computers with free internet access an a very big tv screen with couche

Although it's perfectly located - 2 blocks from subway and in the heart of Copacabant - the private room has no ventilation and the bathroom has got leaks everywhere. The breakfast is very poor. The staff is quite friendly but clueless about the city they live in - their recommendations definitely wouldn't help foreigners get to know Rio, specially if they were people interested in history and arts or off-the-beaten-track spots.
