I wouldn't recommend visiting this hostel in summer, because it was unbearably hot, no air conditioning. Facilities are not very good equipped, and there is no place to hangout with people beside the dining room, where is also extremely hot. Good location, average accomodation, but you can do it for few nights

Had a great time, met tons of people and even some new travel mates. The only issue I had and the hostel really couldn't do much about it, was the heat! Great overall!

Its location is great but it is extremely hot because there is no air conditioner and it is really difficult to sleep. If they fix the air conditioner problem, that would be great. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

location was good:) it was a bit better than rome's hostel. and staff was kind, and shower tap worked well. but, it didn't seem clean although they served new sheets :( and I needed to bring my own lock. there were lockers but without lock moreover, the room was too warm. you need to set up air conditioner i think.

Ladies shower facilities were terrible and my room was way hotter than the temperature outside.

You get what you pay. The hostel was cheap, so obviously it wasn't the best. No AC, bunk beds were old and very creaky, 16 to a room so it could get a bit loud. Bathrooms were decently clean. Not far walking from the main train station or to downtown Florence. Not a great place to meet people though.

Stayed in a 22 bed room. First night it was too hot to sleep in, no air con, but there are 2big fans on the ceiling, and 2 free staniding (make sure to open the windows after 19 oclock). Bathrooms are allrigt, but the kitchen should be A LOT cleaner!!! It stinks! WiFi does not work when it is full house. Location is great, supermarket just right next to the hostel, two squares near by (Sante Spirito square is great at night).

No ac made stay considerably worse. Broken lockers and doors had to be open for air, reducing security. Hotter inside the rooms than out. Good dining area. Relatively small kitchen. No rails on top bunks.

Staying here in summer is a terrible idea, the rooms are so hot - one tiny window does nothing to cool down a ten person dorm and the fans are basically useless. The staff were helpful and the kitchen/common rooms are pretty big.

Best place to be! The only hostel on the other side of the river, and more local, realistic feel of florence. Great people and easy to meet travellers too!

Don't stay at this hostel if you come here during summer!! It is super hot in the rooms! even it is much hotter in the rooms than in the corridors. I was staying at a 16-dorm room for three nights. There was only one movable fan and two fixed fan on the roof in my room!! The temperature was much warmer if you stay at the lower bunk bed.. There is a kitchen but with a few tools... (even not enough spoons/forks) and I don't think it is clean enough! Anyway, location is good.. nice river view~

Worst place ever. Seriously. No air with 16 people in a room that was the attic and no windows... With one fan. Seriously? How a hostel thinks that acceptable for a human to be sleeping in when its 98 degrees outside is beyond me. The room must have been at least 98 degrees all night as well. Slept there 2 nights and not a single person in the room slept for more than 2 hours all night, it was a joke.

No air con, not so great in summer. But the location is excellent with lots of less touristy bars and squares, the kitchen was usable but not very clean and theres a slight absence of forks, overall its perfectly adequate for a few nights, but i wouldnt reccomend staying for long periods in summer.

Great location, 15 min walk from SM Novella train station. Just over the bridge and you're away from all the hustle and bustle in a beautiful little side street. Supermarket close by which is useful if you're on a budget. Great gelato place close by also - Gelateria La Carraia - highly recommended! As expected the room was incredibly hot, there was a ceiling and floor fan but didn't really do much to help. Got a few hours sleep on and off, like everyone else. Basic but clean accommodation.

The staff was not as nice as in other hostels. Just said what they had to say in a bit moody way. The hostel itself was fine, but the room I had was too hot. There was only one van, but the room was just too big for only one van. Eventually I slept in the corridor on a couch, because there was a bit of a breeze there. The breakfast is very simple..

My lock was too big to fit the holes in the locker. Other than that, nothing wrong with the hostel. There was a big cooking area that everybody used. The hostel may not be near the center of Florence, but it wasn't a terrible walk to the center.

The price/quality relation is perfect .The bathrooms always clean, as the rooms and the facilites are good. Two problems: first, many stairs and no lift, not for those traveling with large luggage. Second and most importantly, no air conditioner and very few windows. At night the rooms are a nightmare and I could barely sleep and people is cranky because of the heat, I had to keep fightuing for a fan. This really takes point away for me.

The hostel had a good location and was very clean. But there was no air conditioning and the 16 dorm room felt like hell! I just couldnt sleep because the temperature was absurd!

Fantastic hostel in a great location. However, when we stayed it was 38 degrees in Florence and the hostel has no air con, so the rooms were incredibly hot. They provided fans but this didn't really make any difference. But overall the hostel was clean with very friendly staff, we would recommend, though for colder months!

Great location and it was cool to stay in such an old convent. However, the lack of air conditioning made for a really fitful sleep, we didn't wake up feeling well rested at all. Lockers in our room were broken. Bathroom facilities were good - decent amount of space. Staff seemed kind of disinterested but were nice enough. A fine hostel, wouldn't mind staying again if nowhere better were available.
