The hostel is not as far as the map shows because Krumlov is really small. Good view near the river and the girls there are quite helpful. The bathroom is also clean and u dont have to queue coz it's a small hostel not many guests there.

Only one shower/bathroom and one additional toliet without a sink. Kitchen is locked after 10 so if your hungry or want some water you better bring some. No common area besides small deck on back porch. Owners were nice, but seem distrustful (locking the kitchen). Price is cheap though.

Wow! We've never heard anyone say we're distrustul. If you've been to hostel skippy you'll know what we mean. We lock the kitchen out of courtesy to the entire house. The kitchen would be a party place if we didn't lock it. Guests who want to rest and recover from the hard work involved in travelling, come to us. We don't invite party people so we don't create a party environment. The town has wonderful places to get your party on if that's what you want and you can come home and count on a good night's sleep. :) come to us if you want to rest, read, relax, that sort of thing. And yes, we are cheap. We make sure that our place can be enjoyed by all. We don't think one bathroom for a max. of 12 guests for a super good price is bad news. We think it rocks. :) Happy Travels

the owner is really a nice person. she will tell you all you want to know about the village. actually, the village is small. so maybe the location is not so important to traveller.

The hostel is beautiful and is operated by family. The location is not at the center but 7 mins walking can reach the town. They are friendly to let us use their kitchen, but it is not open all the day. There is no living room in the pension, so you can hardly meet people. After you check out, you will not be allowed to stay in any longer even to use the internet in the lobby, because the young staff said it is not good for their guests to see you there - which I think it's absolutely ridiculous

Our young staff, as you call her, is Czech. So perhaps her English was not perfect but what she said was that you couldn't sit on the stairs as she was going up and down preparing the rooms for the next guests... which is not at all ridiculous. In fact, its perfectly normal. You didn't meet people because you were here during winter which is low season. Otherwise, the hostel is a great place to meet people, have dinner parties on the terrace, and enjoy life. Try it. Enjoy life. It's good for you. :) The Kitchen is open all day but closes overnight to ensure the house is peaceful and everyone can sleep. We believe in that. Happy Travels.

It was really nice place to stay. It has its own atmosphere and suits to the whole town.

Pretty cool hostel, and Skippy is great! It's a small house, so very small and homey. No real common room only a balcony that isn't useful at night when it is closed or when the weather isn't nice. The view of the river is very nice though. The wifi worked great and was very fast. No lockers, but it felt pretty safe since it is a small place. There are a couple of dogs, note that if you have allergies. Overall I would recommend it, I had a relaxing time!

Nice hostel, helpful staff - thanks to MariaTheresia particularly. Three points to be aware of - there is one shower and two toilets for the entire hostel, you must take your shoes off at the front door in order to enter the house and the kitchen was not usable while we were there because the sink was always full of dirty dishes and utensils (although this is more guests' fault than the hostel's fault). Fantastic view from the back deck and the upstairs double room. Good bakery nearby too.

Had a great time here. I was so cold Skippy loaded and then gave me a wool sweater to keep me warm. The location could not be better, right by the river, hard to find at first, but once you learn how to get around it's a breeze. They are close to 2 markets and a bakery shop..Skippy and Maria Theresa were so friendly and knowledgeable about the local activities. They knew all the best places to eat and things to do....

A small and intimate hostel with lots of character in a great location by the river. A supermarket and a range of small shops are just down the street. If you are looking for luxury it is not for you, but I was very comfortable here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely book this hostel again if I return to Cesky Krumlov.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It was in a beautiful location on the river on and was the perfect place to relax after a couple of weeks of travelling. Owner is very friendly and helpful and the town is picture perfect.

I had a great time staying there and found it very welcoming and friendly. I actually had quite long conversations with skippy, which doesn't usually happen when you stay over in hostels. She also has skills at chess and the home made map was very helpful.

We stayed in the double room which had views overlooking the lake, absolutely beautiful. The room was lovely, the owner is so friendly and knowledgeable, very helpful to us. The only drama was on the final night when a group of people were having a party in the dorm room- they were smoking and drinking incredibly noisily, inside, until 6.30am? We told them to quieten down several times but to no avail, and there was no staff member from the hostel anywhere so we just had to tolerate.

Owner Comment (Show)
We are a non smoking hostel and we ask guests to keep it quiet after 10pm. We actually were around and also asked them not to smoke and to keep it down or go out to a pub to continue the party but they were simply disrespectful. We're sorry they disturbed you. It's not something that we generally experience at the hostel. Actually, it was a first and hopefully a last. Happy Travels... Skippy

We had the double room which overlooks the river - gorgeous! Very quaint hostel in a lovely location. The small size is really nice and it is easy to meet other guests. Having a breakfast provided would make this hostel even more perfect!

The place was very clean and definitely had personality. The staff were extremely nice and very helpful. But due to the layout of the hostel, there wasn't really a common area to hang out so people were usually just coming and going. There was a nice deck in the back but for some reason people rarely hung out there. But it's a very pretty place and view, right on the river.

This hostel was simply fantastic! The price could not be beaten and the frienlyness of Skippy, the hostel owner made it a very special place to stay. She gave us plenty of tips of things to do and see about the town and some very good recommendations, even lending us some flip flops for our raft trip. Thanks for all the friendly advice and help when we were there!
