Not in a very prime location. Not within walking distance of the city, however you can take a tram (around 2.70 euros) around the corner. The bathroom and the beds were the best compared to other hostels.

This hostel (hotel) was feral, and lifeless. DO NOT stay here!! The shower was disgusting and flooded, the locks on bathroom doors were broken, the toilet seat was half attached, the beds are so old and squeaky that anytime anyone moves the whole room wakes up. There is no real area to socialise (the bar appears to be closed permanently) and the rooms are very small. There are lockers for valuables but ours didn't work. There is no where to lock up your bag. Worst hostel I've ever stayed at!!

Lovely place. More like a hotel than a hostel. Only really anle to meet people briefly at breakfast. And the money you staying that far west I spent on tram tickets go get into town But still still great place for groups

Far, far away from the centre, the hotel part looked nice and comfortable, but the hostel was a very low budget hostel. The room was clean but smelled a LOT like weed, although the hostel was full of warnings about fines from smoking in the building. The three beds in our room were not that comfortable but seemed clean, even though really close next to each other.

If you want to visit Amsterdam, do not spend a lot of money for accommodation, stay in a clean hostel with very good conditions and with great communication with the city centre Slotania is for you. It is very easy to get there (2 trams and one bus going from centre to the hostel), breakfast is really nice (and you really can eat as much as you want), every days the towels are changed and in some ways it is more a hotel than a hostel.

Pretty nice place. Rooms are really clean, beds are comfortable, have your own shower and toilet in room. Really, really, really long hallways to get to room. Sort of far away from the main attractions of the city but has a tram and bus station right outside. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast included, simple toast, boiled eggs and serial. If i am to go back to amsterdam i would definitely use this Hostel again.

I needed to get in late, sleep, take a bath and go, and for this purpose it was not bad. For those of you who don't know Amsterdam, this address is pretty remote from the City center. Overall I give it an AVERAGE

During my stay, we experienced a lot of Indian nationals living in the Hotel who hog the free internet service for hours. I timed their usage for 2 days and it really inconvenienced many of the other occupants of the Hotel. There is no room to store lugagge at the Reception. We had to store our baggage at the basement. Have a heart. Long haul travelers have heavier luggages & it is really a nuisance to carry the luggage up & down from basement while waiting for your room to be ready.

Great hostel. Location not bad either, only 15 minutes by city bus to central station. And the free breakfast is awesome. So was the price for accomodation.

This was the worst hostel I have ever stayed at in my life. It was a horrible experience. The "low" cost is not even worth staying at this poor establishment. If you are travelling to amsterdam, do not stay at this decrepit place.

Second stay here. As with the last time the shower drain was badly blocked up, with lots of grime in there.. Smelt like an open sewer in the toilet. I fixed that which wasnt very pleasant. Other issue would be cleaners barging into the rooms (why cant they barge in to unblock drains??). Balconies dont look like they have been cleaned once. Thats just the bad stuff tho. Otherwise the hostel is great. Feels like a hotel (from certain angles) and is a great budget price. Ideal for a couple.

I was booked a single,private,en-suit room but I have giving a room that has not got anything in it only a bed. I complained about it immidiatly and then given me another room with shower and toillet in the room but I still was not happy with that because it was not the room I have shown on internet. I finally got the room next morning.

Location's outside the city center but both the bus & tram stop right out front making transportation to all the hot spots easy. Room and bathroom were very clean, lots to pick from for breakfast.

This hostel is not a real hostel. It is a massive hotel which has added bunk beds to some of its rooms. Our room was tiny and crowded, although the bathroom was quite nice. The building is so big it took several minutes to get to our room from the entrance. It is far from the city center, but is well situated on tram and bus lines so that wasn't too much of a problem. A very nice breakfast was included.

The hotel was nice, I recommend it to all if you. I safety is very good, and it is clean with free connection to internet. It is quite far from the center but there are very good bus and tram connection, during night there is a bus every 30 min. The most amazing thing in this hotel was breakfast, it was more like brunch, delicious.

Taking a tram into the center can get expensive... 2.60 euros for 1 hour, 7 euros for 24. Compared to not really needing a tram if living in the center... Plus they stop at 12am... So its either stop partying early and catch the tram or spend 30 euros for a cab. My only complaint. Other wise the hotel is GREAT!

No character at all, terrible location. Very good price but thats cancelled out by the amount you'd spend on trams or buses getting to and from the city. I suppose It'd be good if you wanted an early night away from the centre of the city but even then you could do better. Aldi across the road was handy. Oh yeah, they "upgraded" me to a smaller room.

Although out of town the hostel is in a good location to both the tram and bus line. It was very easy to get from the airport to the hostel and back again. Traveling from the hostel to Town (Dam square, Central Station) is very easy with Trams right outside the door. There is a supermarket and other convenient stores handy too. Hostel does have Wifi in the common area which is good. Rooms are clean and comfortable and fresh towels are given daily. All and all i enjoyed my stay.
