Great hostel but very far from center... Also lack of common areas makes meeting outside of your own bedroom, slightly more diffulcult then normal.

Hostel Slotania is NOT a hostel, nor is it in amsterdam. It is a budget hotel that they have added bunk beds to, and is at least 25 minutes away from town by tram ($2.60 each way). Rooms and Breakfast were fine, but this should not be rated as a hostel.

A half-broken glass to put the soap on was in the shower, which they never fixed, and cause me to cut me feet. I had to go to the hospital to stitch it and lost my hole days there. No one in the hostel would come to see if i needed anything at any time and they would take accountability on this. I had to ask for my money back, which they gave gave it to me. Also it is very bad situated. Far away from the center, you need to take a bus which are pretty expensive in Amsterdam

This was kind of like a hotel that had a few rooms as a hostel. The location was really bad, so far out of the city centre that we had to buy public transport passes for the whole time we were there although the night bus stopped right outside it. The breakfast was pretty good too but it was quite early for us!

Location ok. 15 min bike ride from city center. Door would not lock but they did fix it. Super comfy beds! LOTS of mold in the bathroom. Would stay here for party weekend not for a Honeymoon.

Except for the good breakfast, this is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. The location of this hostel is OK, which could be reached by tram or bus. But the receptionist was so rude and cold that he spoiled all the fun. The room was tidy, but small, and very noisy. You could hear trucks and cars roaring all the night, and what's worse, the window could not be closed. I love Holland, but I really don't want to stay there any more.

double room was very nice, clean with a very big comfortable bed, we had tv and a view to the street. the shower was okay, in the room and we even had 1 extra small bed (!). the location is okay, at night there's a night bus (20-25min of drive) from the Centraal to the hostel. the cleaniness wins the location :) it's a HOTEL, nit a hostel. the price is okay for what they propose.

The breakfast at this place is like a gift of the gods for a broke traveler, it will keep you going all day strong all day long. Thats about the best thing i can say though, internet is shyte (just pretend it doesnt exist), it takes about 20 min bus/tram to get to red light/downtown, and the rooms were stankalicious (not the hotel's fault I guess). It is a really nice, well kept place and at a great price, I'll give it that, but the action is all in town so you decide.
