It's a little far from the city center but the tram is right around the corner and its about a 20 minute ride which is not bad. The staff were very nice and helpful, my outlet adaptor didn't fit and the front desk didn't have anymore but the bartender let me use his. The rooms were cleqn too. A good place to stay for an afordable visit.

Although the hostel was pretty far away from the main tourist attractions, it was worth the money. The rooms were pretty much very clean and the staff were also very helpful when it came to assisting the visitors. However the only issue with regards to the hostel was the water clogging in the shower, apart from that I would say, a good hostel to stay in if you don't find any ones within the main locations.

Horrible - this run-down, shady, unsafe hotel offers dorm beds (clean!, cheap, ok comfy) but does not represent a backpacker place. Staff is not helpful to say the least. For me it was hard to believe to meet 3 staff members at different times all bad mooded, "ask the bus driver" for the way to the centre (about a 20 minutes bus ride), "you must take a taxi to the airport, there's no public transportation in the morning (although night buses directly to AMS start at 5:29 am) is not acceptable.

seems more like a hotel not really like a hostel for young people. it's not in Amsterdam city centre, like 20 min with the bus but it's okay!

When we first checked-in, the reception staff were not very welcoming and the lounge and toilets were horrible. But to our surprise, when we checked into our hostel room, it was impeccably clean and the toilet was spacious and to-die-for! The room was one of the most value-for-money ones that we stayed in. But security at night was an issue as around 3 to 4am there was furious pounding at our door and someone even tried turning the knob to get in! The room next door was really noisy as well!

Hostel Slotania was really far away from the city center. I was misled to think that it was closer and was alarmed when on the tram for nearly 45 minutes. There was no place to grab a bite to eat after a long day and the staff were quite unfriendly and could only tell me to go back into Amsterdam.

I had room nr 166 at the hostel, a bit isolated in a orridor ending up at an enormos "outside balcony". My room had one window facing that balcony. The room was clean ok, and also bathroom. On the night between Saturday and Sunday I was WAKED UP AT 03.24 - BY SOME NOICY PEOPLE PUSHING MY DOOR, WALKING TO AND FRO IN THE CORRRIDOR AND OUT ON THE BALCONY, SMOKING AND MAKING MUCH NOICE! THIS WENT ON FOR MORE THAN ONE HOUR!! I WAS ALONE IN THE ROOM AND THEN - THE WORSE ------THERE WAS NO TELEPHONE!!!

The only positive comment I have for this hostel is regarding the optional breakfast buffet. It was cheap and provided a good selection of food. The front desk was very rude and not helpful most of the time. One of the biggest turnoffs was finding out that there was little mouse in my room . Because of this, I will never stay at this hostel again.

In the website they mention about free breakfast, which was not so… has to pay 5 euro for that! Also they deduct money in the name of city tax, which they didn’t mention on their website. The staffs were helpful and kind specially the young man!! Another good thing about the hostel is that it’s just beside bus/tram stop, also ALDI and other supermarket are around.

This hostel is bad in terms of location, the staff at reception is not so nice and it is not clean, there was a rat in my room (125). I didn't feel safe about my stuff.

It is a very nice hostel, to me is the best value for the money. Although they do not have loackers, they do have a safe deposit box. They offer a good breakfast for plus 5 euros, which is good. The problem is that is located a little bit far from the center of the city, but you can use the tram way until midnight.

This was one of the worst experience i have ever had. The receptionist was rude . The security was bad, i lost some Euros while i was asleep. The place is like 45 min away City center on tram. Staff were not helpful at all. Its not a hostel for god sake. Cleanliness is okay. There was not much of other facilities offered during the stay. I would never suggest anyone to stay here

It's a little far from the center, but that's not a problem if you rent a bike or buy a 24h bus ticket. The staff isn't very friendly, but they were professional. There are no lockers. It is a hotel transformed in a hostel, so I recommend as a place just to leave your stuff, take a shower and sleep, don't expect a hostel atmosphere with people hanging out around the place.
