I do not recommend, bathroom with fungus. The quadruple room was very tight. Two storey bunks. There were no chairs to sit. In the evening you can make yourself a tea for € 2.50, it's even more expensive than in town. Pictures do not show rooms like our room.

Good points: very good bathroom, good breakfas and very well comunicated. Bad points: a little too far from the center of Amsterdam, rooms too small. It'd been nice to have at least a hanger too put my coat for the night! And a mirror outside the bathroom so people can get ready without having to wait. Small and cheap thing that would make the room more comfortable.

The average value of this hotel is not bad, especially the prize, the bathroom, the entrance hall and breakfast. The rooms are very common but the mattresses are good. Unluckily the corridor leading to the rooms is much too narrow an to long and the carpet of this corridor needs urgently to be changed.

So this is basically a hotel with a few hostel dorms. The rooms were big and the toilets inside the room were quite luxurious. The location was ok (renting a cycle highly recommended), about 20 mins from red light by tram. The wifi was only accessible from the lobby. The breakfast was decent, though there wasnt a kitchen for us to cook. The hotel overlooked a flee market where you can go and get cheap bargains (we got loads of cheap fruits). Will probably look for a more centric hostel next time

I think for the most parts the Slotania Hostel was at least good. The location was good, you had good basic stores around you and you could sleep your night peacefully. It was very easy to jump to a train or to a bus (depends where you wanted to go) - the stops and departures were 20-60 meters away from the hostel. From outside the hostel looked like very modest but the room was clean from inside and the breakfast was good. Staff also served us well.

The Hostel is a bit far away from the city, but the transportation is excelent. Since our room was in the beggining of a very long hallway, we had a litlle trouble with people passing in front of our room very late at night and making a lot of noise. The hostel should, at least, hang some posteres asking people to be quiet in the rooms area. Other tanh that, it was a excellent choice of hostel.

Very clean rooms and shower, and the staff were always ready to help us out. The breakfast was value-for-money. It's 20 minutes away from the city centre by tram though.

It's absolutely the cleanest and most modern hostel I've ever been. The room has a very modern bath and a flatscreen tv. It's more like hotel than like a hostel...

Not in a very prime location. Not within walking distance of the city, however you can take a tram (around 2.70 euros) around the corner. The bathroom and the beds were the best compared to other hostels.

The hostel is actually a hotel. The room is very comfortable and nice as a hotel. The only bad part was that the hallways smelled a lot and the employees were rude. But the breakfast was very nice and complete.

Great place to stay! It is more on the edge of town, but there are lots of buses/tram that go into the city center.

This hostel (hotel) was feral, and lifeless. DO NOT stay here!! The shower was disgusting and flooded, the locks on bathroom doors were broken, the toilet seat was half attached, the beds are so old and squeaky that anytime anyone moves the whole room wakes up. There is no real area to socialise (the bar appears to be closed permanently) and the rooms are very small. There are lockers for valuables but ours didn't work. There is no where to lock up your bag. Worst hostel I've ever stayed at!!

Far, far away from the centre, the hotel part looked nice and comfortable, but the hostel was a very low budget hostel. The room was clean but smelled a LOT like weed, although the hostel was full of warnings about fines from smoking in the building. The three beds in our room were not that comfortable but seemed clean, even though really close next to each other.

If you want to visit Amsterdam, do not spend a lot of money for accommodation, stay in a clean hostel with very good conditions and with great communication with the city centre Slotania is for you. It is very easy to get there (2 trams and one bus going from centre to the hostel), breakfast is really nice (and you really can eat as much as you want), every days the towels are changed and in some ways it is more a hotel than a hostel.
