Small hostel but great staff, and excellent location! Seriously, right in Vieux Nice (the old town), 2 min walk from the beach. Also 2 laptops in the reception + free wifi.

Fantastic location, Hostel is quite small, Dorm was cramped with everyone's stuff everywhere. Staff were brilliant, very chatty and informative, always up for helping you with whatever you need. For one night it was pretty decent.

easy to locate

I'm not complaining. For € 18 per night I don't expect a 5 star treatment. It's a bed, in a room, in a house... The lady of the house even prepared us breakfast with coffee and eggs.

Great hostel right in the centre of Vieux Nice. All of the receptionists were so kind and helpful with directions and places to see. Thank you Hostel Smith!

The absolute best location in the old town, right in the middle of things, just walk down either end of the street and you find all the restaurants, pubs and shops you need. Literally a three minute walk to the beautiful beach. In a cute old apartment building. Great communal kitchen area. Everywhere very clean. Very helpful and friendly staff. Had a really great stay.

Hostel Smith is without doubt the best hostel in the Old-Nice. Simply by it's exceptional location and nice character. This little place has lots of potential and deserves some credit. Had a GREAT time overthere!

Had such a fantastic time here. Staff were more than happy to direct us in the right direction to find our way about Nice. Situated perfectly in the old town and very close to the main attractions in nice. Definately the biggest plus about this hostel was the great social atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly, up for hanging out together etc. Think this is a lot to do with the staff here.

Horrible hostel! I booked a 6 bed dorm but they put me in an 8 bed dorm. The room was so tiny, there wasn't even enough space to put your luggage. The bathroom is not ensuit but is only reachable by a very questionable staircase. The bathroom isn't very clean and it's very hot and humid, as is the room. I wouldn't stay there again and definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

We had booked 2 beds from a female dorm of 6 beds for 4 nights. The first night we slept in a mixed dorm of 16 beds and rest of the nights in a female dorm of 8 beds were you could barely move. There were no airconditioning, the upstais showers were full of mould and there were crowing mushrooms from the walls. The hostel was located in the old city but the were three bars downstairs so it was very hard to have a good night sleep. The kitchen was ok but people ate our food and drank our juice.

Horrible place, smells like mildew, overbooked and people had to sleep on the floor, extremely loud for a hostel. Good location
