It was extremely noisy, both from the outside, but also the beds. I know that the noise from the outside is not the hostels fault, but the bed should someone do something with right away. Each time you turned around, or even moved a little they made an awful noise. Didn't sleep much because of that.

It says it has breakfast when it actually does not. There's not a minimum of intimity: it's not even possible to close the toilet's door. It's cheap but I wouldn't really advise it to someone.

We weren't sure what to expect when we walked into Hostel Smith--it's in an old building on the first floor, a bit sketchy looking--but we had a wonderful stay. We booked a private double room, and we ended up getting a studio apartment in a different building. The hostel is in the heart of old Nice--two minutes away from the beach! We didn't have the typical "hostel" experience, but everyone we met seemed happy with their stay. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The place certainly has its quirks (positive and negative), but the location is perfect and the cost is totally worth it.

Locker and breakfast included. Great location! Doesn't appear overly secure from the outside, but they are careful of who they let in the building and there are always people about. While maybe not the nicest/newest hostel, the atmosphere is great and people socialize in the common areas.

A little bit better than the next hostel in Nice. Good for breakfast but it's poor. Good for position in the old Nice. I didn't like room 'cause too small and toilets are just 2 for many rooms and dirty.

Fortunately I had to stay only one night. The hostel was very dirty and small. I asked for the towels and has been given a humid and dirty one. There was no hot water and no toilet paper in the bathroom, which was located on a sort of mezzanine floor accessible only by wooden shaky staircase. Luckily the girls in my room were friendly and that made my stay more pleasant.

The two hostel owners were very rude upon my stay at hostel smith. The breakfast was literally just a piece of bread. They only have one toilet for a large amount of people and the showers don't lock. I would avoid staying at this hostel, as I really did not enjoy my time.

The man in my dorm masturbate himself in front of my bed so I wasn't feel secure, there is a lot of creepy man that life there, i think they should put them in the same room to avoid contact with the travellers. The food of the breakfast is no good

Nice place though, very helpful staff. The hostel is in an old building so everything's old. They say free breakfast is from 9.30 - 10.30 but it always finishes at 9.40 (too many people, too few things for all)

IT'S NOT WORTH IT. The people are nice and it's cheap but it's gross and they try to squeeze everything together. There's two bathrooms three bathrooms for about 25 people. If for some strange reason, you do decide to stay, try to stay in the biggest of the options, the bathroom is much nicer. Oh yeah, and they don't even have a phone!! Who doesn't have a phone? This is the 21st century, come on. We didn't get a key, sheets, or CLEAN towels upon arrival so we had to wait until much later. >:(

This hostel is terrible. The building itself seems to be shared with regular residents, after a very-hard-to-open castle door you reach the rooms. Quite small, very dirty floor and a small locker where you can keep your passport, better than nothing. Don't think about moving and your bed will be squeaking! Toilets were cleaned in a daily basis but shower with hot water only in the morning and one of them was no water at all. Not the safest place and

Location: Perfect. Right near the beach and all of the good bars. Everything else: terrible, not worth it. One of the bathrooms was broken, so we shared a tiny and dirty (I'm talking mold on the ceiling dirty) bathroom with 12 other people. The first night we stayed there the light in our room was out and we were told they'd replace the light bulb the next day, when we return at night it was still out. The free breakfast is stale bread and coffee. Reception desk is rude. Room door didn't lock.

It was really filthy and also we were late for our check in time but we phoned and they said it was fine but when we got there our room was rented to other people so we had to sleep in a dorm. If you ONLY want a clean bed to sleep (not a clean bathroom included) then this is the place for that is all we had....

Fantastic location in the old town. Though the room is a little small but it is not so bad compared to the money you paid. Reception is very kind and helpful. Strongly recommended!

It was good for a cheap overnight stay. The room was not located along with the office though (instead it was a block away, not bad though). We had a room to ourselves and the door locked so we felt safe. Nothing wonderful, but again, it is good for an overnight stay.
