A great hostel! Only a few corns: 1) The breakfast was in to short a time frase. We didn't get breakfast because we came down 10.05 and it was ALL gone. And the morning we took the ferry, there were no breakfast yet. 2) There is a roof, it would be great to use it! ;) 3) More bathrooms would be nice.

Staff was very friendly but they definitely need more people. When there are a lot of people checking in, it can take over an hour to get someone to help you with something. Obelisco is more like a hotel than a hostel, it doesn't have lot of character and the common room layout doesn't help people get together. People didn't socialize much. Bathrooms were alright in tearms of cleniness but would often flood and in one of them the heater wasn't working properly so the water was almost cold.

Excellent hostel, great location, beautiful facilities. Mistook the entrance for a somewhat swanky apartment complex. Very secure, and five computers make it very convenient to access Internet. The staff is friendly, and they don{t gorge you on water, beer, and juice. Stayed in a private two room double with a friend for a slightly discounted rate of about $23 a night. When its this great of a hostel just a block away from the Obelisk, itts a great deal!

Cold showers with little pressure and two sets of doors at entry using a buzzer system became monotinous to pass though. Other than this the hostel was amazing, helpful and friendly staff, great free breakfast, clean and the activities provided through the hostel were outstanding. More of a relaxing type hostel as opposed to a party type of accomodation. Great location!

The staff were super helpful & went above & beyond for me. There were a lot of inclusions (such as breakfast, free internet & wifi & DVD player). The location is also really excellent for sight-seeing. My only slight complaint is that he shutle was very late leaving the airport.

Has poor entry , 2 sets of doors that used a buzzer system - could often be waiting 5 minutes to get in or out. Found the staff at reception were too busy to assist with any enquirys. Stood at the reception desk and was ignored on several occasions. Despite these minor issues the hostel itself was fine. Didnt see much of it as I only stayed one night but bathroom and lounge area were clean. Wifi worked. Breakfast wasn't the best.

Excellent hostel and facilities, right in the centre of the city with helpful staff and a mass of activities to try.

Our room was spacious & quiet with high ceilings and ornate carvings in the plaster. Beautiful hard wood floors! We were invited to leave our big suitcase behind to make a side trip to Iguazu Falls, and told our 17 year old daughter would be welcome and safe staying solo for a night till we returned. (She flew into the country a week after we did.) The location is unbeatable and there are lots of reasonably priced tours available each day. We really appreciated the complimentary ap shuttle.

Thami and the other girl (I don't remember her name) were very very nice. Not in every hostel guests get this spacial treatment. In any question about the city, different attraction, traffic tickets, how to arrive different places, giving advices, they helped us in the best way with a big smile. I also want to mention their fluent English. Giving the guest a treatment which is beyond the expectation is always good, and we wont think twice to visit again in hostelsuite in another city.

Great location with friendly staff. Bunks fairly creeky, makes it difficult not to wake others getting on/off top bunk. Needs more bathrooms and room facing street was noisy. Nice common areas with good free breakfast.

Big scam to purchase trips or excursions from the hostel. They charge ridiculously high and then the services are not provided as stated. I booked a day tour to Colonia(advertised as 340 pesos but charged as 390) that was supposed to include lunch and a guided tour. However, once I got there there was no tour, lunch and the return ticket I was promised for 5pm was actully at 9:45! When I complained to the staff they said its not their problem!

The hostel is big, but this makes it also a bit impersonal - some activities could be organized
