Hostel Universus Reviews

This hostel is ok. But I dont realy like bathroom. It looks like dirty with old carpet near with shower. Please change it =)

The only problem I had was that it is in the same building as a nightclub. I was ok the first two nights, but there was a wild, extra-loud party the third night. I got about two hours' sleep. Even earplugs couldn't drown out the subwoofers that lasted past the time I left at 7:30am!

The staff was very kind and helpful. There`s easy parking in front of the hostel. Location is excellent just beside the Old Town. I had difficulty to connect the Wi-Fi.

Great place to stay! Friendly and helpful staff are constantly cleaning and it shows. My only issue at the hostel was that a few beers that I left in the refrigerator were stolen and a travel-buddy's French cheese was stolen. I would be greatly disappointed in the future when I stay here again to see that nothing is done to prevent this from happening to others.

Nice place to stay. It's cheap and has a good location in the very heart of the Old City.

All and all just great hostel, price, staff, room, location, etcetera. Only thing was I was on a 6-person room and there were only 3 working electrical outlets, which was quite anoying (considering a lot of people have smartphones nowadays which need charging about every day). Nevertheless: very nice hostel!

i cant see why they have been given permission to open a club underneath the hostel. i was awake until 4am with the bass booming through the room and could hear it even with earplugs. i complained at 2.30 to the night watchman who just shrugged his shoulders. getting up at 6.30 means that i had 2 1/2 hours sleep total. as i pay to sleep i would like a refund.

Only 2 female bathrooms/showers for the whole floor is clearly not enough. Waiting times. The kitchen is very impersonal and not inviting. You can´t really meet other guests. Only 1 computer for interent which often didn´t work. The disco goes on until 6a.m! Common rooms have no lockers. However, easy to find even at night. Some of the personal only speaks Polish or little German.

good hostel for the price & in a good location.

The best things about Hostel Universus are its great location in the beautiful old town of Gdansk and its low price. Anyway, there is a disco somewhere near the building and falling asleep may be something difficult to achieve at weekends.

Wooow! It's really awesome! Nise stfaff, excellent atmosphere and very good location(100 m from metro station and 500 m from the center of Bcn). I really like it! Thank you, guys!
