Very nice place.Clean, good breakfast (prices in Montevideo are quite high),awesome forniture.Rooms are small and without lockers, but the place is safe enough. Warm water was perfect in the showers. I guess It is very loud when crowded. The place has open spaces that communicate lower and upper floors, so you can hear anyone talking loudly or watching TV from any other point of the hostel, including the rooms. Location: could be better (surroundings), but it's about 10 blocks from the coast.

it´s still under construction, (the terrace that we were invited to visit, wasn´t finish, and it´s not safe at all). Very tiny rooms, we reserved a doublebed bedroom, instead we have a twin bedroom. One of the ladies toilets didn´t work. Unattended breakfast. We needed to make a call, (we would pay any reasonable price) but, since they didn´t have how to "capture" where we were calling, they didn´t lend us their phone. There were no Credit cards available.... but we could pay in Argentinian $.

The bedroom was too small and there were always people in front of the hostel asking for money, but the breakfast was good and the staff was nice.

the hostel is new but still in a renovation mode - prices are reduced for that reason, the double room had a balcony, the staff is friendly, the kitchen is clean, breakfast is good, the area seems to be safe, you can walk to the city center - but it takes 15-20 minutes, the bus station is a little closer - appr. 10 minutes walk.

Rating is more for potential that current facilities. While being very clean and well designed, the hostel is still under construction and the upper floors are being built. The rooms are good (individual lights and power outlets), breakfast is on the simple side, the common areas feel a little cold and scarce. Once they are finished (especially the rooftop terrace), this should be a really great place.

The place is clean and the staff friendley, however there was very few toilets and showers which was annoying if you were waiting for someone. During my stay there was no atmosphere within the hostel and it was rather boring. Another thing that was poor was the breakfast. All it involved was some dry bread with spreads and coffee etc. Comfortable place but i will not stay again.

This hostel is really great. They're new, so they're still improving, building a nice terrace where it'll be possible to enjoy the evenings. Staff is very friendly and helpful, the place is clean, our room had air conditioner and nice brand new mattresses and linen. Reception has sofa, computers, TV. Breakfast is great. Atmosphere is nice too. It would be great if they could sell snacks and beverages too, but I think they'll put this later. I would definitely recommend this hostel!!! =)

The hostel presents good installations, and when finalised the reform will remain better still. It would like me that the hostel loaned attention in relation the reservations and fulfilled the the reservation, as we did a reservation in a chamber only and had to remain separated in 2 chambers

The hostel has a sterile feel to it, probably because it is new and has not developed it's own character. They are still working on the place, and some rooms are not ready for people (don't worry, they don't put you in rooms that aren't ready). There is only 1 bathroom for men, which is really annoying when the line gets long. The staff is very nice and helpful, which is a big plus. The location isn't the best, but the city is small, so everywhere is relatively close.

The staff were charming at this new hostel, it's handily located for the bus station but is a walk into the Ciudad Vieja. However buses run 24hrs from a stop about 100 metres away so it's no problem. the beds were really comfy and for 2 6'4" men you can actually lie out flat, a novelty travelling.

This hostel has only opened recently and still has a few rough edges (eg bathroom space not enough at present), however overall this is a great option. Double bunks are new and clean; each room has lock on door plus lockers for guests; kitchen for preparing food (perhaps area is a bit small); small lounges and TV scattered about. Staff were great and extremely helpful. Location is very good - near bus terminal and most of the places you'll want to go to (the old town feels a bit dogdy).

The hostel is new, and still very clean. Good staff, good location, high potential. The only thing that there was only one bathroom for the gentleman. So sometimes you had to wait a long time for your shower.

This will be an excellent hostel when it is finished being built- At the moment there is quite a lot of building noise during the day but it doesn't take away from how lovely this hostel is. The furnishings are very modern and clean and the wifi/ relaxation area is excellent. The only downside is that the private rooms have bunk beds and not double beds which isn't ideal. Overall an excellent hostel and would highly recommend it.

Hostel Urbano provides a new standard of accommodation.... Luxurious, converted property, modern, clean, air conditioned, cool white walls, glass balconies, marble floors, clever use of space. Reasonably priced. Staff excellent and always want to help. Ideally situated in quiet location yet within easy reach of all attractions and amenities. Other hostels need to take note, travellers don't want old scruffy accommodation and Hostel Urbano massively raises the standard to a new level. Excellent.

I had a great time here. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and hospitable. They even invited me to eat dinner with them one night. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to make a meal, and the market is just down the street. It's incredibly clean as well, and since they just opened a month or so ago, everything is still new and sparkling. It's located just a few blocks from the main bus terminal. Thanks Silvio, Carlos, Teresa, and everyone else for a lovely stay!
