Hostel Urbano is the BEST place to stay in San Jose!! Jane, Antonio, Kate, and Frank are so so helpful and friendly. They all took time out of their day to help us plan our trip and showed genuine interest in what we were doing. The free breakfast is a delicious plus! The rooms are very clean, safe, and quiet. The whole atmosphere in general is community-based and all travelers stayin there were super friendly. We absolutely LOVED it!!

Honestly a hidden gem. Why stay downtown San Jose when you can stay a 10 minute bus ride from there, in the university area, close to a ROLLER DISCO!

Very nice stay in this spotless clean hostel. The staff was always smiling, friendly, ready to help in the best way possible. Great atmosphere, nice pool table, relaxing courtyard, common area with comfy sofas and big TV. Very good location in university area close to cheap bar and restaurants.

Great pizza! The pancakes and fruit in the morning were good as well. The dorms were spacious and clean. Lockers under the bunks, comfortable beds and cool fireplace. Loved the communal areas both inside and out. The hostel staff were great, even sending a personal email with directions and phone numbers after I reserved online. Distance from the airport probably the only con but I would stay here again without a worry.

I only stayed one brief evening at Hostel Urbano, but it was everything I needed. I would definitely stay again. My friends recommended it and it was great ! Staff was unusually friendly and helpful. Very professional. Location can't be beat. Plenty of restaurants nearby, but not next door. Taxi line just across the street. Great place to stay in San Jose. I've had several stays elsewhere and they are not all very nice! This was my fave!!!!

Eating fresh pancakes with fruit and black coffee for breakfast in the garden on a sunny morning was priceless... Despite we only stayed one night in San Jose, I am glad we spent it at Hostel Urbano. The staff was incredible, very helpful and attentive at all times. The hostel is very very clean and new with spacious rooms, common area and a beautiful garden. If we are back in San Jose in the future, we will definitely stay at Hostel Urbano again.

It was one of my best stays in a hostel.the two girls who run it are just awesum and help with everything you need. On the first night one of them went out with me and a friend to party in a local disco.it was just a great day to start a holiday. I would recommend this hostel to anyone I meet in san jose(what I just did)

The staff was super friendly, I got a personal email upon booking to confirm the details and to give me some advice about my options to get to the Hostel. The hostel is on a great location, the building is really cool and has a great backyard to enjoy the nice weather. I would definetly go back

Good place overall. Everything you need for a night, plus a nice common area and a pleasant place to hang out. It is in a pretty rough neighborhood, but the building is plenty secure. The neighborhood is my main gripe. Other than that, it's a good, basic place to stay.

I loved this place. It was a chilled yet slick operation the staff were extremely helpful and fun! I would recommend it to anyone that was going to stay in San Jose for a stopover. The pancakes were great and the coffee strong, just what you need to wake yourself up! 10/10

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hostel has lots of areas to chill out in, including an outside yard. There is a pool table, a large screen tv an assortment of movies with an assortment of movies and on certain night they bake pizza in their pizza oven in the backyard.

Very friendly and helpful staff! My brother and I stayed at Hostel Urbano for two separate nights, and the staff helped to arrange pickup from the airport. Decent rooms, especially for the price! A little far from downtown San Jose, but right by the University, so several eateries close by.

Excellent location. The only problem we had was that we didn't have hot shower and we asked them to fix it, but they didn't.

Amazing hostel. Hip, friendly, cool staff. Great layout and kitchen facilities. Lots of other travelers hanging out in the common areas, but it never felt crowded. I will be staying there next time I pass through San Jose, for sure!
