I think they've e just painted the floor of the room we had with some kind of water repellent color before we checked in, however as a result there was quite a chemical smell in the room during our stay. Also the reception isn't 24h occupied and there is no lock on the main entrance. Otherwise the hostel/camping was clean and silent during our stay. The wifi didn't work in our room so we had to get closer to the reception and it was quite slow.

the hostel was okay... the bathrooms were probably the worst part since the shower was just a head on the wall you literally soaked the whole bathroom and there wasn't a working door to the bathroom either. Staff was very unorganized and not very helpful. For what I paid, definitely not worth the money. The only thing I really enjoyed was the kitchen, it was very spacious. Otherwise a little less than average hostel.

Hostel Waira is a mix of a hostel from private rooms through shared rooms to a camping site, therefore everybody will find his or her own taste, should you just travel through or want to spend more days in Tilcara. I stayed for a night in a 6-bed shared room: it was clean, had lockers and a shared bathroom. The location is good as well, only a 5 minutes walk from the main street or 10 from the bus station. The staff is helpful, and a breakfast is included as well.

I is a nice hostel with a beautyful yard. The rooms were clean and nice. Because I was there in high season they changed the kitchen to a dorm, toilets didnt look good at all and were not cleaned often enough. I would recommend a stay our of hight season to enjoy the place.

This is a hostel not using its full potential. The location is good. The entrance and grounds are nice. The owner is nice. The dorm was a little shabby and dark but was perfectly functionable. Breakfast was so disorganised, in different place each morn and not always enough supplies, bread was rock hard. There was a kitchen but on our 2nd night the owner had it locked for no apparent reason. There was a guest smoking in our dorm and the owner wasnt that interested. No lockers

The hostel is very nice and the staff friendly. The cleanliness in the bathroom and the toilets was not the best though, plus toilets did not have a lock and one of the shower only had hot water.
