Very difficult to find in the dark for the first time. After arriving at the train station we walked around for 2 hours trying to find it. Upon finding it we were promptly reminded reception closed at 22:00 by the owner I'm assuming. We would of been there for if not being lost for two hours. Overrall it is a nice place with odd peopl, but very poor location being about 20 minutes away from the city center by tram.

Great hostel - clean, quiet and convenient. Location is very good due to good public transport options. Worth recommending! I have been here two times already :)

Everything was just great! The staff were so friendly and talkative. I really enjoyed staying at Wolna Chata.

This was my 2nd stay at Wolna Chata, and it will always be my first choice when I go to Gdansk. Magda collected 2 of us from the airport (prebooked) on a very cold morning at 0200, for only 50 zl, which was a godsend. Another nice touch was that in her own time Magda wrote me out a list of local dishes to try, after I had expressed an interest the day before. I can honestly 100% reccomend the hostel, even though it is slightly away from the city centre (buses and train station at top of road).

This is an excellent hostel for visiting the Treecity !!! The standard is really good so it is great value for money. Hostel is kept really clean and it has everything for a comfortable stay. Very decent breakfast is definately a big plus. Staff is very helpful and service-minded. Although Wolna Chata is located quite a distance from the Gdansk Old Town it is well comunicated with all the 3 cities . I would deninitally come back and would warmly reccommend it to other toursist!
