What's better than being on the central square? How about making lots of friends from all over the world in the central space. Great hostel, I highly recommend it.

If we could rate this hostel higher - we would. The staff was incredibly friendly. The atmosphere is great, location couldn't be better, and the tours were great and easy to set up. The breakfast was the best we had on our whole 2-week journey. We can't thank you enough for such a great stay.

Very good location in the city center! Staff is friendly and allowed us to store bags during the day of late evening departure and also to take shover in the evening before leaving. Good breakfast and cool atmosphere. No problem with hot water. Price performance very good!!! Would use it again. Also checked their new property in Progreso which is very nice and along sea (although not to good to swim) but rooms are very nice and quiet location.

Staff is kind and helpful. Full equiped kitchen is great when you appreciate cooking. You can help yourself with the water fountains, the spices and tea anytime. The included breakfast is fantastic (coffee, tea, milk and cereals, fruits, bread, butter, peanut butter, jam...etc and you can even get homemade omeletts on demand!). The location in Merida is perfect, can't do better than the central Zocalo. It is definitely one if not the best hostel we have been to for such a reasonable price.

There is not much more you can expect from a hostel. It's right at the main plaza. The breakfast is the best we had so far in all of Mexico, Oscar, the owner of Zocala, is making omeletts himself every morning. The staff is super friendly and always happy to help, especially Joel at the reception. The only downside is that, due to the hot weather in Merida it's quite hot in the double bedrooms, even with fan on full speed. But all in all definitely a recommendation. We'd always stay a 2nd time!

Great hostel. Warm reception. Terrace area is a great place to cool down away from the Merida heat. Would stay again

Brilliant breakfast, cereals yogurt omelette bread jam coffee etc, comfy bed. Room got very hot and the ceiling fan was weak so didn't help at all. Clean bathrooms, the girls bathrooms were fine cubicles but my hubby wasn't impressed with a shower curtain instead of toilet doors in the mens! Great location right on the main square.

Fantastic hostel with a really good breakfast. We stayted in 4 bed room facing the zocalo and had a nice balcony. The whole hostel is in an old colonial architecture building with a fantastic inner courtyard. One of the most atmospheric and beautiful hostels ive been so far. The only thing i didnt like that much are the male bathrooms on the first floor. No space to put your things and the curtains as a replacement for doors for the toilets arent really a good idea.

Great location and I really mean it. Located next door to the former home of conquistador Montejo, cathedral and governor's palace. Check all of them of course. Short walk to CAME for trips to Chichen Itza and Uxmal. Recommended highly.

Let's make things super objective: 1,We arrive at 2am with three ladies' heavy luggage, they helped us from the main door to our room door. 2, Free breakfast with freshly made tomato, onion & cheese omelette 3, good tour recommendation for uxmal and chichen, good price & service 4, it is located in the main plaza, no one would ever get lost 5, we left at 3am, again, they gave us milk for our own cereal breakfast, they helped to move the luggage to the taxi! Oscar is the best hostel staff ever!!
