Nice homely hostel. Immaculately clean all the time. Chilled out vibe. Swimming pool and pool table and great. Meals cooked by the hostel are tasty. But it is a far way away from the town - not a huge problem, but be aware! Getting to Florianopolis on non-connecting bus, changing in Porto Alegre was a bit of a nightmare. Bus doesn't get to Chuy until half midnight, earliest, and a lot of the busses from Porto Alegre onwards were sold out. Apparently go to Brazilian Chuí and get a bus from there

The hostel is overcrowded with too many beds in the small dorms, there is little space when full. Not enough space to cook in the kitchen which becomes hectic throughout the evening and at breakfast. The hostel is a party hostel, despite being 20 mins or so away from the center of PDD. The staff (who were very helpful and friendly) ensure that all noise is minimized in the hostel after 12, however outward facing rooms hear the party continuing in the garden. Bike rental, cheap meals and booze.

Couldn't say enough good things about Hostel Viuda! It is one of our favorite hostels we have stayed at in 3 months of travelling! The staff is super friendly and the hostel is clean, with an awesome pool and pool table! Lots of hammocks and places to hang out. They also do a dinner every night that was reasonably priced and really good! The only downside is it is a 15-20 minute from the downtown, but if you don't mind walking (we didn't) it's the perfect place!!

Brilliant hostel not far from the beach. Bit of a walk to the town but there are supermarkets near by. Really nice pool and garden areas with loads of hammocks. Huge kitchen with loads of equipment for cooking, or else a staff member cooks dinner each night that you can pay extra for, food was always good. Nice friendly atmosphere. Really appreciated the drive to and from the bus station. Only negative is the 8 bed dorm is a bit cramped.

Hostel de la Viuda is amazing, probably the best one in Punta del Diablo. The staff were really nice and helped me a lot, I have no words to thank those guys. The hostel is well organised, clean and have nice facilities. The only problem of it is its location. The beach side is a bit far, maybe 20 min walking

Facilities are absolutely incredible!! The pool and the pool table room are super cool. The kitchen and the common areas are awesome aswell! The rooms inside are good, the rooms outside in huts were basic. Breakfast was good. The staff were pretty average, except the owner was great! Went out of his way to help us a few times.
