The location is near Louvre and within walking distance from the Metro, very convenient to get around. However, I don't feel very safe in the hostel as people can come in to the hostel without showing the ID cards issued from the hostel, especially when the staff is occupied with talking to other people at the counter. The bags are left in an area which can be accessed by anyone, which I don't feel good about, although thankfully everything was still there.

I dont have high standards while in hostels, but not even having bathroom soap...really? Maybe just because the french arent hygienic anyways, but it was still off putting. And a silence rule is supposed to be enforced after 10, but nope, loud ass americans yelling and playing music til 3/4am...the beds are uncomfortable and u have to pay €5 for 4hrs of internet. This place blows.

While I initially booked three nights online, when I arrived at Hostel des 2 Empereurs, and they looked through a paper ledger, they saw no record of my booking! Meaning I had to book one day at a time, unsure that I would be able to stay for three consecutive nights (which I was eventually able to do).

The staff in the kitchen for breakfast was very rude but the staff in the reception was really nice and very helpful. They helped us with all we need it about sightseeings, museums and stuff. The location is excellent! The rooms were not very clean and in order to take as shower you needed to press the shower button all the time!! The breakfast was good.

The location is great. The dorms are very basic, but clean. One should definitively bring earplugs/ mask, as the sinks are in the dorms! Toilets are good, the showers however are very small and could be cleaned more often. Also, I could´nt find the hostel immediately - google maps has it wrong and there is no sign at the door.

Security in the rooms was awful. More then twice I went up to the room to find it wide open. I tried to use the lockers advertised; over half were blocked or out of order and the ones that did 'work' simply opened if you pulled the handle. Did not feel safe leaving my belongings there at all. No facilities such as cups or spoons you could use & wash.

Free wifi or wifi that worked in the rooms would be nice. Having one key to the room was inconvenient at times. Hostel seemed pretty accessible to anyone off the street. Breakfast was good.

the only issue i had was to use the toilet, there wasn´t even a toilet sit. However, the location, staff was all good. I didn´t mind walking 5 floors, it was good exercise. Thanks anyways for the hospitality.

This is by far the worst hostel I've stayed in. The staff seems to make you wait on purpose, the wifi cards they sell are slow and expensive, the computers you can rent are also slow and expensive. There is no elevator in the hostel, they gave me a room on the fifth floor and the room had actually two floors with a very high stairway you had to literally climb to get to your bed. The toilets were absolutely nasty. In few words, if you want to enjoy this wonderful city, DON'T STAY HERE!

Please improve the security. A key for one dorm? It is not safe.

For a solo traveller looking for the hostel atmosphere, this is not the place. It's geared toward groups and there seemed to be mostly school groups. None of the typical hostel amenities such as a kitchen (there is a cafeteria that serves a great free breakfast), no free wifi, common area is not that comfortable or lounge-y, no lockers, luggage room was unlocked, etc. However, it was clean, quiet and the location is unbeatable. A great place to crash, don't expect more.

They don't even have duvets!!! It was sooo cold as I was only provided a very thin blanket!!! The shower is terrible too, the one on my floor doesn't work and you have to keep pressing for water, soo annoying

I used the worst room in the hostel so that my review might be lower than others For my room, there is not bathroom and shower room on the same floor so that I had to go down. There is no elevator and there is only one key for one room. So, once someone comes in the room, the room is apparently open to anyone, as there is no security even at the entrance.

One key per room does not inspire confidence in the security measures of the hostel. Also, one shower per floor is nowhere near enough. Good location!

This was an excellent location for central Paris and especially the shopping and the Louvre plus a whole host of other sights. What would really add to the atmosphere and the character would be paintings on the walls (nailed in to secure them) such as prints of real french masterpieces, in my opinion. The stairways and the rooms were clean but a little bland with nothing on the walls. Everything else was good! Many thanks for the stay, Kate x

This is a good hostel with nice staff and good facilities and an unbeatable location. I needed a hostel in the center of Paris for one night and this hostel is perfect for this purpose. It is not a place where you would like to spend your vacation. The staff was not able to find my reservation (it seems that they do not care much about hostelworld) but was happy to offer me a choice between a room in a dorm or a bed in a twin room (+5euro) where I stayed myself. The internet is not free.

Very basic hostel. Stayed for three nights over new years 2012. Only one key per room, last out locks it, first in unlocks it. No lockers in room either, can pay 2 euros for a small locker downstairs. Shower was mainly cold, and only dribbled a little bit of water on you. Breakfast was ok. Rolls and cereal and juice. Staff were nice to me.
