Pros: Great location and good atmosphere. The terrace is very nice. Cons: random friend of staff slept in our room and stunk. He didn't even pay. There was a pesky kitten that the staff let run free and it would jump on you without warning. It was hard to tell the difference between the staff and the guests because they were not professional. Overall it is an ok place to stay but the staff needs to step it up a level in professionalism.

worst stay ever. bulk bed without ladder, toilet without lock, rooms are separated by lockers!? very noisy!! dirty sheets, poor facilities. you have to walk 2-3 floors to get to the reception and your room. Everything\'s bad except the rooftop, coz the staff stay there all the time, when u complain about the noise or sth, they won\'t help you, forget it, they\'re one of them.

The hostel is very good and can provide you a lot of fun. The staff is good and friendly, but a kind not so professional (they dont accept credit cards and do not give you receipt) Its a party hostel. But this feature can be bad if you need to sleep :) Its not so clean and It is not so close of the subway. But overall, it was a good experience.

Well placed in the Roma Norte. The staff were nice and helpful, the common areas, especially the terrace, was awesome. The only downside was how crowded it felt, and the fact that there was only one proper inodoro and shower for us gents. But, hey, the beds were comfy and the beer was cold.

The hostel staff was always willing to answer questions and helped make our experience better. The facilities were cleaned regularly and well and we always felt safe in our area.

Staff need to work more on knowledge of the Mexico City and/or put up more information about the Mexico City. Staff couldn't answer about what time El Angel de la Independica would open, so I had to ask my another Mexican friend who is from Aguaslicalientes to find out the information for me. You will not get code or keys to get in the front door, otherwise you have to scream your lung out to get the door open by someone inside the hostel. Hostel is cozy and nice! Free Internet = value 4 $

Accommodating staff, fun rooftop terrace! Not the best facilities (only one toilet was functioning) and beds were uncomfortable.. but corresponded with low price.

Young and chilled out staff that helps direct you, is happy to chill, drink and spend time with you. This creates a great atmosphere in the hostel. Constant music and bar make it a great way to meet and discuss with people. Free breakfast on the terrace is a good way to start the day and to meet people. Area is great to, as up and coming with plenty of bar and food options. All in all a good choice if you don’t know Mexico while quite close to the historic centre

My room was clean and well equipped with a good bathroom, even sat TV. The location is great, staff and guests friendly. The rooftop bar and eating area is a real bonus feature

There are many great features to this hostel, which other reviewers have highlighted. However, if you are a non-smoker there is a huge downside. The lovely roof-top terrace is available for smoking at all times- and people do- especially the staff and visiting friends of theirs in addition to guests. The small combined kitchen/bar/common room/tv room is officially smoke-free until 9pm but thereafter becomes a smoking room in addition to the patio, so there is no escape.

Bring a lock if you have valuables – there are no room keys! Not much privacy!

Cons first - The main toilets are in a hallway with little privacy or ventilation , several showers including ensuite did not work at all for duration of stay (week), limited computer use available. Pro´s - Brilliant location with numerous cafes and bars close by, security consisting of buzzer entry (no key) is good for piece of mind and is 24 hour and the upstairs beer garden/ rooftop area is absolutely stunning. For the price of the rooms its a very good hostel and would recommend for sure
