For the prize, this hostel is everything one could expect. Good location, very small but clean japanese-style rooms. If you only want to sleep there's nothing wrong with it! And as for the location, there are indeed some odd characters in the neighbourhood, but just as many policemen. And please, people! These are homeless, not vampires, and will not harm or disturb you!For the prize, this hostel is everything one could expect. Good location, very small but clean japanese-style rooms. Really nice room, traditional Japanese style. Was great to have a tv and fridge. Staff were very helpful. Only complaint was the cleaners loudly cleaning the kitchen and bathroom at 4:30am.Really nice room, traditional Japanese style. Was great to have a tv and fridge. Staff were very helpful. Far more cramped then originally assumed. Rather out of the way for the more Tokyo influenced crowd. Kitchen oven isn't user friendly and there is Engrish abound. Mostly positive staff and great air conditioning.Far more cramped then originally assumed. Rather out of the way for the more Tokyo influenced crowd. I had an excellent time at Hostel a Silk Tree in Yokohama. Everything was clean, and I had everything I needed: shower, coin laundry, free breakfast, etc. Also, you can't beat the price! It was small, but I expected it, so for the price that was no problem.I had an excellent time at Hostel a Silk Tree in Yokohama. Pretty cool little place, The JR station is nearby so you can go into Tokyo directly from here. THe breakfast is decent but the rooms are to separated, and there is no common area, so dont count on meeting a lot of people. Closed to Ishikawa station only if you have a little luggage. Located at a low income/ghetto area with homeless people. The hostel only occupied the 8th and the 9th floor of the whole building so expected to bump into other "weird looking" residents of the building. Rooms are extremely small and is impossible to fit in 2 people with big luggages. The staff are friendly and can speak good english. Coin operated shower sounds suprised to me, but easy to use and clean.Closed to Ishikawa station only if you have a little luggage. Located at a low income/ghetto area with homeless people. rooms, despite being small, are very clean, bright, well-furnished (tv, fridge, futon, bedside lamp & table, etc) and quite comfortable. the entire place is very well-run with shower booths, coin laundry and kitchen, and the staff are wonderful. balconies are all sectioned off and there's a rooftop garden to smoke in. despite the fact that i was staying there by myself, i was a bit reluctant to leave; definitely the best hostel in yokohama.rooms, despite being small, are very clean, bright, well-furnished (tv, fridge, futon, bedside lamp & table, etc) and quite comfortable. the entire place is very well-run with shower booths, coin laundry and kitchen, and the staff are wonderful. balconies are all sectioned off and there's a rooftop garden to smoke in. despite the fact that i was staying there by myself, i was a bit reluctant to leave; definitely the best hostel in yokohama....Close
