This was a wonderful hospital! Luis was very friendly and gave us excellent recommendations on everything from where to eat to which galleries to look at. The hostel itself is beautiful; we had a big room and bathroom to ourselves; and they even changed our sheets! This was an excellent value, and we had a wonderful visit. I am dissatisfied that the hostel fooled us on the exchange rate between US Dollars and Mexican Pesos. The room was quoted in dollars on Hostel World, but at the hotel we had to pay a quite high price in pesos. I estimate that the hostel "stole" around 20 USD with this exchange rate scam.I am dissatisfied that the hostel fooled us on the exchange rate between US Dollars and Mexican Pesos. A small friendly hostel in a good location just 10 minutes walk from the centre of the old town. I stayed in a single room which was very clean and comfortable. I'd stay here again.A small friendly hostel in a good location just 10 minutes walk from the centre of the old town. I stayed in a single room which was very clean and comfortable. The room was large, clean, quiet and private. This is not a youth hostel. I missed the camaraderie of other youth hostels I stayed at previously. Location is about a 15 minute walk to center. On the opposite side of town from the Instituto Allende. Either way, San Miguel is gorgeous and strolling through town was super nice when it wasn't raining. Beware of enticing and expensive boutiques. The room was large, clean, quiet and private. This is not a youth hostel. I missed the camaraderie of other youth hostels I stayed at previously. for $32 for a double this place could have been a tad nicer. my room was on the first floor, and the external ´window´ led to a shaft that enabled me to hear all of my neighbors - those who came home late and wasted, those who got it on for hours on end. the place really lacked all character. the computer in the common area was unusable as it was painfully slow, and the layout of the place was such that i didn´t manage to meet a soul while there. i won´t return.for $32 for a double this place could have been a tad nicer. my room was on the first floor, and the external ´window´ led to a shaft that enabled me to hear all of my neighbors - those who came home late and wasted, those who got it on for hours on end. the place really lacked all character. the computer in the common area was unusable as it was painfully slow, and the layout of the place was such that i didn´t manage to meet a soul while there. i won´t return....Close

My first hostel experience and it was wonderful! Juan and Rosie were fantastic and always helpful. Would highly recommend this or their other hostel, the Alcatraz, if coming to San Miguel.
