This is a family-run hostel just about as close as you can get to the main square. The staff couldn't be friendlier. They helped me book a tour of Mt. Etna and provided bus schedules. They even drove me to the bus station with all my luggage! WIfi works great in the common room. There is a kitchen stocked with olive oil, spices and pasta. This was a quiet hostel although I was there in early May. I didn't even have a roommate the first time I stayed. One time shower didn't stay warm.

A great hostel at an excellent, central location. It wasn't too busy when I stayed there so I was lucky to have a whole room to myself - which also meant that I did not need to share the bathroom that belongs to the room, either. Had it been busier, the single beds instead of bunks would have been a blessing too. Carlo, the manager (owner?) was very friendly and helpful too.

the only issue while I stayed in Verga hotel was that there were only 2 guests besides me, and that's why I voted poor atmosphere. Everything was clean and new, and the location was excelent. A great value for your money. I definitely recomend it.
