I booked this hostel for my friends and i after a week of partying on sail Croatia. The accommodation is apartments which were very clean, spacious, affordable and easy to find. We couldn't believe our luck. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Couldn't say a bad thing. Have already recommended my friend to book here when she stays in split. Thanks again hostel nikolla!

We arrived here and found ourselves upgraded to a wonderful apartment five minutes from the Old Town, Mezzanine floor, well appointed kitchen, big screen TV, huge L shaped couch- perfect! You could have comfortably fit four in there so with 2 we were laughing...Location-wise, it's super. Slightly removed from the centre so quiet, but only 5 minute walk from the seafront and old town. Staff are also great- friendly, hospitable, great English, funny. Can't recommend enough.

We stayed 2 nights, one at the beginning of our stay and one at the end... Because of a festival in town the owner requested us to pay double the price for a less comfortable room that we had the first night... We were tired and we didn't argue too much but it wasn't a good surprise at all...

excellent hostel. family run, very helpful staff. my private room turned out to be an ultra modern apartment which was far beyond my backpacking experiences. if you are travelling with your gf, ask fir the flower room! well worth it. loved my time there and look forward to returning!

Really nice stay, was pleasantly suprised that our room was like an apartment with kitchen facilities! Other guests were also really fun. Only drawback was that wifi didn't work in the room, had to go to the communal space.

Lovely helpful staff and beautiful newly renovated accommodation. Would recommend this above and beyond for a relaxing stay with a party atmosphere in the evenings. More like a hotel room than a hostel!

Our accomodation was awesome .... The owners were very friendly and helpful.... The best accomodation so far.... The best way to find it is to use google maps walking directions.....

Second time I have stayed here, and we were given a newly finished room which was perfect in every way, lovely balcony and tasteful decor. The staff are really helpful and make you feel like part of their family. The location is also excellent and is down a quiet pedestrian back street, but only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Split.

The apartment is very well located (right in the old town). The staff was not very friendly during our stay and only returned our passports in the last nights. We were forced to move to another apartment on the second night. The owners live on the first floor and as there is no reception. So, whenever you wanted to talk to them we had to go and knock their door. Positive: good location and wifi signal Negative: little friendly staff and no reception

Everything is good and the owner do treat us very nice. The only cons is that there is no Wifi in our room.

We were put in one of the newer rooms which was gorgeous, especially for the price! Travelled as a couple so were happy walking to the hostel late at night, but it is up a (short) alley/side road so if travelling alone I'd have felt a bit uneasy walking back late at night. It was a bit noisy and the curtains were see through, but that wasn't a problem.

Stayed here on a whim. We didn't know what to think as we found ourselves going down many little alleys and finally arriving at Hostell Nikolla, but we were pleasantly surprised. We slept so well. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. After a long day of travel, it was the perfect place to relax. It was a little difficult to find, but otherwise it was great.

The quartier Varoš is a really beautiful part of Split. I lost my way when I got home the first days. So tiny little streets, like a magic, white labyrinth. It taught me to have a more special, certain look on things. Thank you Varoš for being my teacher in calming down and relearning how to take a rest The ladylord was a very warmhearted person to serve every wish to breath. Splićanka, volim te! Ljubavi Split

Danijella, the owner, very accommodating when we had to change the date of our arrival by email. She greeted us warmly and provided a map, pointing out places of interest . Our ensuite room was in brand new wing of the hostel. It was beautifully decorated with a superb bathroom. Location was great everything in easy reach. Breakfast at nearby Le Monde is a must. The One Penny Tour is essential! Our first time in a hostel but we were surprised and delighted and can't wait to return! We love Split!

Good value room in good location. Might not have felt too happy returning to hostel late at night as a lone female as it is slightly off the main street. Staff were not ready for us when we arrived and the shower was cold. Despite this overall good for the price.

After reading some negative reviews, there are some things that I'd concur with, but overall, this was a great place to stay for a few days. The rooms are recently renovated, and nicely done. There were no cleanliness issues in the apartment, but the kitchen was a little messy. The owner helped us find parking nearby, which in Split is very difficult. It was also about a 10 minute walk to the old town. For the price, it's hard to beat! Definitely recommend for those on a budget!

Just renovated double bed room with ample space and great bath room! I had a great time there! Only thing were the see-through curtains which meant no real privacy after sunset when you switched lights on in the room. In high season it may be very noisy as the room's next to the owner's kitchen/ living room (and their TV) as well as overlooking the outside communal cooking area. As long as you have sensible co-guests or don't want an early night it might be ok though :)
