Hostelling International Austin

Hi-Austin rests on the shores of Town Lake, providing a peaceful setting only minutes from downtown Austin. Guests are only footsteps away from bus lines, the hike & bike trail, and the Colorado River. A 10 minute journey could take you to the middle of the Red River music district, to the stylish hub of South Congress, to the cool waters of Barton Springs Pool, or to the natural beauty of the Austin Greenbelt. Our fun and friendly staff would love to give you some ideas of what to do in town and directions on how to get there!

Bed linens, towels and internet access are included in the rate. Our rates are $22-53 per night for Hostelling International members. For non-members, there is a $3 daily membership fee. From May 1 - August 31, rates will increase $3/night for Friday and Saturday nights. Those nightly rates are $25-$59 for HI members. For non-members, there is a $3/night daily membership fee.

Please contact the hostel directly for reservations during ACL Fest and SXSW. There will also be a special events fee of $3/night for bookings made during these times.

HI-Austin is obligated to charge a 15% Lodging Tax on all overnight stays in accordance with Texas state law. This will not be included in the confirmation email you receive from Hostelworld.com.

As part of our high quality standards, a government-issued photo ID (such as a passport or drivers license) must be presented upon check-in.

No curfew, comfortable 24 hour lobby overlooks Town Lake. Dormitories open 2pm-11am (14:00hr-->11:00hr). Lockers in rooms, 1 per person. Central air conditioning and heat for your comfort.

Please inform the hostel of any cancellations by 5 pm the day before you are scheduled to arrive in order to avoid any charges to your credit card.

Group reservations of more than 6 total beds require 50% hostel deposit and minimum one week cancellation notice.
