I very much enjoyed my stay at Hostelling International Bangkok with the friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and quiet, relaxed location.

We left this hostel after 2 nights. There is no swimming pool like it says on here, one of the reasons we chose it, which is false advertising. The bed is a thai 'health' bed meaning no mattress, just wooden slats, worst sleep I've ever had. The other staff were helpful and pleasant, but the owner told my boyfriend he couldn't use the kitchen after being told we could. He was so arrogant, patronising and passive aggressive, we left for the HI Baan Thewet next door which we would recommend.

My stay has been good. The room that we got was quite spacious and we loved the breakfast. The location of the hostel is walking distance to some of the tourist spots and marketplace in Bangkok. The only thing that made me turn off were the mosquitoes.

We liked this hostel. The manager was knowledgeable and friendly. If you have any questions he will make an effort to help you. The breakfast was simple, two choices, but fine.Quiet location. A bit far from the action, if you are walking, but good transportation facilities counteract that.

Mosquitoes in lower area and dorms. Individual room good. Booking by telephone failed - twice arrived with no rooms available.

I was there by myself for a few days while waiting to join friends. It was in the middle of downtown Old Bangkok and within walking distances of the palaces and wats. I could explore Khosan St and the surrounding areas. I never felt in danger or intimidated.
