The hostel was very accommodating. They provided a variety of deals and savings including restaurants, the Zoo, and Sea World. The staff has put together three-ring binders with details of what San Diego has to offer, which is great if you looking for cheap activities or a bite to eat. Also, we had hot showers (free), clean towels, laundry ($1.00), and they serve a pancake breakfast every morning for the tenants. I would definitely stay here again over a hotel!

James was extremely helpful and interested in talking to people. Some hostels are not quite as friendly.

This hostel is great. Extrem friendly staff, very well equipped and clean kitchen, nice backyard. The location is really quiet. Well working wireless internet in the whole house. We had a private room. If you decide to book one, ask for room #C. It´s the most beautiful one. The bathrooms are a little bit old, but I heard they will restore it this year. Fully recommend this place!

I stayed for only a night with a friend, it was a very nice hostel but I guessed it is much better during the summer! It was more like a hotel atmosphere with everyone doing his/her own business, but again it was Spring time and the hostel was not very busy. I'll definitely consider it if I want to come back to San Diego during the summer!

This hostel (Point Loma, San Diego) routinely charges extra fees per person for Hostel Intl. Non-members even with Hostelworlds.com Gold card. Staffers were not very friendly. Facilities were a bit run down. Parking a bit sparse. Not a great value for price paid. Will look elsewhere on next visit.

I had a great stay at this place. I can feel good care and attention to the place bringing comfort and hospitality for worldwide travellers. I have met travelers from , Canada, French, Spain, Japan, and many other places. I also met US people from Missouri, Massachusetts. Finally a big thanks and appreciation goes to the Point Loma staff who has made this place a pleasant stay.

Along with several friends, we planned a road trip to San Diego to visit the Zoo, Legoland, etc, and were deciding between this hostel and another more centrally located hostel. After deliberating, we found that Point Lima was perfect for us. It was quiet, peaceful, the staff were friendly and the pancake breakfast delicious. The location means that unless you have a car, downtown SD can be somewhat inaccessible, but if you do have a car then it's a-ok. Great value hostel.

We had to change to a extended stay for a more comfortable matress it very un-comfortable and for the price we found several places for an additional $5 we can have an entire roon with bath room, internet and TV a much better deal. I think the Hostels should be less expensive then they are for such small accomidations. Thank you for the stay...Rose McFarland

Thank you for your review, and for choosing the hostel experience. I am sorry to hear that our tempurpedic mattress was not comfortable, sometimes they accidentally get flipped to the wrong side. We will certainly make sure to go through and check that all our mattresses are right side up. Thank you for your stay!

This was my first stay at a hostel and Point Loma more than satisfied my needs. The staff are respectful, helpful, funny and knowedgable about many things especially ways to manuever around the city as well as points of interest. I was sad to leave but more adventure awaits me! Thanks so much to the staff at Point Loma Hostel~ Hope to see you in a year!!! Janice

A very residential hostel (which makes sense since it's in a neighborhood and about 2 blocks away from a church). Pros: The people who work there are awesome and the facilities are excellent. The kitchen is amazing & there are plenty of comfortable places to relax in the sun. Cons: The bathrooms aren't always clean and they always look a bit dirty. There's very little nearby.
