I arrived in San Diego sick, for six days I felt cared for by staff and other travelers. Many days I just hung in bed trying to recover, sleeping comfortably. The great attitudes of hostel employees Matt and James lifted my spirits. I loved the relaxed atmosphere. I enjoyed the girl scouts cooking and presenting! It was good to have the grocery next door for sick supplies and the kitchen was exceptional. I could not have asked for a better experience! Special thanks to Denny.

Great Hostel! Short bike ride to the beach. The staff was super helpful, forwarding some mail to us and all around very pleasant. Pancake breakfasts are a definite plus!

We loved it. It suited our needs perfectly. We enjoyed talking with people from all over the world. Our 6 year old daughter loved the pancakes and hot cocoa. We will be back. Only con was that Ashley who worked the front desk had the personality of a rock. The gal who worked the evening shift, from Romania was very pleasant and sweet.

From the first moment in that hostel it felt like home! The common area is always full of people and it's very cozy with plenty of activities to enjoy with other hostelers. Fre breakfast is good. Everything is clean and neat. They have a very nice patio. Even though they are located a bus ride away from the downtown, it's not a big issue. San Diego public transportation is well developed and easy to use. The only thing is that the bus that goes right by the hostel doesn't have service on Sunday.

Great location if you want to get away from it all. Street parking is available if you have a car but can be a little difficult to get a spot at the end of the day. Hostel was great, very relaxed, great kitchen! Will definitely stay there again.

my only complaint was the showers were not real clean and kind of dark, maybe to hide the yuck; and the sinks were backed up. no one in the office to pass this one to the morning i left. despite this, i would stay again.
