After staying at another DC hostel for 4 days, I was disappointed that I hadn\'t booked my entire trip at HI. The linens were clean and smelled fresh. The rooms had locks, the breakfast was delicious, the staff was perfect, and the other guests were pleasant. I\'m middle-aged, but that didn\'t seem to bother anybody. Wish I\'d have been able to travel when I was young, but couldn\'t. My stay at HI was very enjoyable.

Is is more a hostel for school classes than for travellers. The aircon in the room wasn't ajustable.

A wonderful experience! The staff, the dormitory, the breakfast, the location and the free monuments tour were awesome! I would recommend it to anybody who wishes to stay in Washington DC comfortably and at reasonable rates. Keep up the good work :)

Hostelling International in DC is average on basically all accounts, except for location. Be sure to bring your own lock and be prepared to wait lengthy periods for the antiquated elevator to arrive. Most of the bedding seemed to be relatively clean and our roommates were nice enough. John in the kitchen/cafeteria was very nice, but most staff is rotating and semi-competent so be sure that you know what you\'re looking for and what to expect and be sure to request services if you require them.

Well located, good facilities, just the elevator is a problem when it is not working, and when it is, you wait a lot. Breakfast included is simple but good to have it included. Ok for a couples of days in DC.

I had a great time, it's clean and everyone was very friendly. It's within walking distance of "Downtown", the Mall, etc.

We stayed for just one night. The location for sightseeing in one day, was excellent. Staff was very helpful and complimentary breakfast was good. It was what you would expect.

I enjoyed my stay in HI Washington D.C.. The hostel is close to downtown D.C. and just about a ten minute walk from the White House. Bathroom and room were very clean. It would be great to have a small lamp for every bed (as I had in HI Boston), as there was only the regular light and if you came back late you didn\'t want to wake up everybody, but it was kind of hard to find your stuff in the dark without switching on the light.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location. Good breakfast options. One negative - the bunk bed in our room was so noisy and creaky, it woke me up every time one of us moved.

So many teenagers in this hostel to make me feel a little noisy, except for this issue, all are in my expectation.

The elevator was RIDICULOUSLY slow and I found the staff where great when asked a direct question but didn't really offer any advice or suggestion about where to go/what to see. The kitchen facilities were fabulous and it was cool that there was some sort of event every night.

The stuff is doing a good job. All guys know, what travellers need, they are helpfull and provide every day a special activity. Despite the huge number of guests the HI-hostel is a cosy place in DC downtown.
