The staff made our stay so much fun! Also, the daily activities such as the music at the Kennedy center were very helpful.

I always stay at the hostel when I come to DC. It is homey, comfortable, clean and well located. It is also a great bargain!

Best hostel ever! SUPER-nice, helpful, and relaxed staff; John is the best breakfast warden ever! HI organises very interesting tours for free where you do not only see the best sights but also get easily to know other travelers (and the nice staff). Everything is clean, location is very good as well. I loved my stay there.

only one big light in a room with ten people was quite disturbing some times. also WiFI is only available on the first and second floors (lobby and kitchen) and not in the rooms. why? the hostel has lots of rooms so chances are high that you might share a floor with several inconsiderate school students... all in all a fair bargain for the money but they could improve some areas and things.

The hostel was clean, safe, and secure. The kitchen facilities are gorgeous - there is plenty of space for you to have your own food in the fridge and to cook. The rooms were clean, quiet, and the temperature regulated. The atmosphere was ok. Lots of teenage tour groups so it's not that fun to hang around the common area. Otherwise, good for the price.

Great hostel, only problem I had when I was there was that there were a bunch of school groups staying, one night there was a group of teenagers running around screaming at each other for a couple of hours, until after midnight, who I had to yell at to be quiet. So it would be good to have staff doing some rounds of the corridors late at night to enforce the no noise after 11pm policy. Apart from that, I had a good stay! Breakfast was entertaining due to a certain member of staff!

This hostel was in a good location and we had great service. My only complaint was the uncomfortable beds. Otherwise quite clean and a friendly atmosphere.

Very cheerful and friendly place. Staff was a big plus: friendly, helpful and very energetic. The hostel is well situated and the common facilities were great. The room was a bit outdated, but sufficiently nice place to stay. Only the matress was a bit of a downer.

In DC, the staff was especially understanding, helpful and diplomatic. Thanks so much!

The hostel is probably best for groups of people. Clean, but a little walk to the main attractions and city heart. Security was both swipe card access to the room and good lockers. It is large hostel so does not have that warm chilled vibe of other hostels.

Only stayed one night so maybe we got it on a bad night, but very poor. for one thing it was way overpriced. Room wasnt that clean, it was far too warm. The shared bathrooms were bad (and I normally have no issue with shared bathrooms). saying that, the bed was comfy

As a long time hostel afficionado, I found the DC Hostel to be a brilliant stay as usual. I worked at the Eastham Hostel on the Cape last summer and know how much work goes into ensuring a positive experience for travelers! Many thanks!

Security is good, you need to show a document to enter the building during the night, there are lockers, etc. Breakfast is included, and they organize various activities. I joined an evening tour and it was quite nice. However the hostel is very big and not exactly a cosy place. I didn't sleep well because of too much traffic noise on the street.
