My laptop was stolen in my room by probably another guest, I really recommend to use locker in this hostel.

Good location beside the light rail station - although not in walking distance of most attractions. Some staff members aren't aware that the hostel offers bike rentals. Quoted room prices omit the 15% tax.

It is very big, very cleen, and very hotel like. Things seem under controle, it is very formal and there are a lot of expences here, like lockers which cost 5$. It is located 30 min. walk from downtown and 1 hour from the Space Needle and other museums. if you are a young traveler who like to have fun and meet people, you should go to \"The Green Tortoise\" which is located in the middle of downtown. it is a fun and more casual place, it is cheaper and they arrange free tours every day.

The location is not desirable but it's not far to the hot spots. The hostel itself is very clean, trendy, and quiet. The front desk staff was nice but not especially forthcoming with information. I had to ask about breakfast, check out time, curfew, etc.

This is the cleanest and one of the best thought out hostels we have stayed at! It seemed brand new and was kept clean, each bed had its own fan and light which made life easier, the kitchen was better equiped than mine at home!!! Felt really homely and wished we could stay longer or that all HI hostels were as nice as this one! It is in a rough area so be careful at all times of the day, cheap supermarket over the road and not far from attractions.

Location was only good because of the proximity of mass transit; otherwise, being in Chinatown is not my cup of ginseng. Fun is not my reason for staying in a hostel, nevertheless the spontaneous fun was not what you would expect from such a big crowd. Character was sterile; it was functional (and no problem there) but did not have "character".

The American Hotel is newly renovated and the cleanest hostel I've ever been to! You can easily get to Seattle's downtown and waterfront from this location by walking or taking the public bus in the "Free Zone". The staff is very friendly and helpful with advice on how to spend your time in Seattle. There are big lockers in all the rooms (bring your own lock). This hostel only looses points for its no alcohol on the premises rule and very early (but free) breakfast.
