The rooms were a little crowded (14 beds per room). It could be divided in more rooms.

The location isnt the best but it isnt a problem with the cheap buses... $1 for a day pass! :) Definately worth a visit...

If you like to walk in 38 degrees Celcius to pretty much anywhere then you\'re perfect at this hostel. The bus stops are relatively far away and so is the city center. I was there alone and I felt alone since the crowd was very quiet. It felt strange, not like the usual hostel atmosphere. Yet the staff was very friendly and helpful, the kitchen well equipped and the bathrooms and dorms clean.

This hostel has a beautiful setting. It is located beside City Lake. At night you can sit by the water's edge, surrounded by trees, and see the stars above. It is remarkable given that you are in a major city.   Read Owner Comments

Great hostel to stay in while visiting Austin. Only a 25c bus ride away from down-town and the rooms are clean and safe. Would recommend staying here to any travellers.

This place is gorgeous, right on the lake. Nice and chilled out. Free internet, and the most extensive collection of free bread ive ever seen. About 15 minute bus ride to town. Good for the price.

I enjoyed my stay here, although if Im being honest, its a fairly standard HI Hostel - it was clean, secure, but was fairly quiet. But its the only hostel in town, so budget travellers have no option really. But its nice to stay here, dont think its bad because it isnt - I must say that the staff vare really helpful - Marcus in particular.

Great hostel, well-thought out. Little shop with the kind of stuff backpackers might need, music, aquarium, cat, two free pcs, little 'free' library, very helpful staff, door codes, lockers. Only caveat is the location: it's beautiful, next to the river in a quiet area, but also rather remote.

It was a great place to stay! I really felt like home. Staff was very friendly, always ready to help, give advice etc. Everything was very clean and well organized. Hostel was offering a lot of accesible information about what to do in Austin, how to get to the most interesting places. They also have a kitchen with all you can need to cook and eat your food(they offer some free bread an coffe), very cozy common room. And ... a cat! I love this place, I will recommand it to everyone!   Read Owner Comments
