Basically just accom above a pub. Excellent location, but no communal area. Ok if you\'re travelling in a group, which I was at the time, but would be pretty average if you\'re travelling alone

A filthy s**t hole! DO NOT GO HERE!No kitchen or breakfast; a filthy bed above a bar. No common space, no refunds, surly staff w/no tourist info. Roomates got robbed and theif tried to pry open our lockers. Workers angry swindlers.. Not worth it for 40-50 euro pp/pn. Try for Flying Pig, if you don't mind no kitchen, the Budget Hotel Tourist Inn is the same price as The Globe for a dorm room, great security, is clean and includes a good breakfast. The staff there are friendly.

It is a dark, non-friendly place. In stead of a common-room to stay, there is this dark bar with a giant tv and sports on... It was the only hostel in wich I had problems to sleep because of the people in the room where chatting at 4 am. I had to admit, though, that I was there during the week-end which is a special thing in Amsterdam...

Location was amazing, pretty cheap, bathrooms/ shower was a little gross, staff were a**holes, however this all encouraged me to go out and enjoy Amsterdam rather than hang out in the hostel

We stayed in the big room which was a bit ghetto with graffiti on the walls but it turned out to be pretty good. The only problem was we couldnt eat downstairs as it is a public bar but not a big problem. Excellent location right in the centre of the red light district.
