Very helpful, great staff and the hostel is really clean...but I felt I'm in a circus. I dont want to go back there. Strange people in our room, shouting people, uncomfortable beds, very cold room...but the coffee was very good :)

Staff was not very friendly. Beds were horrible and noisy (every turn you made resulted in creaking and squeaking) and there were poor curtains on the windows. It was a spacious room, which was good. Showers were bad and only a tiny curtain for cover and therefore no privacy in the bathroom. Besides that, at least one shower did not work. With a couple improvements (showers and beds) the hostel would immediately get a much higher rating. The location and building are nice.

Hostel was filled with middle-aged men which is not comfortable if you're a girl traveling by yourself. Top bunk is hard to reach because there are no steps. The hostel is not clean. Showers do not give any privacy, there is just a shower curtain but you have to leave all your stuff in the open space and get to the open space to get dressed. Uncomfortable even if it is female only. Besides that, the showers do not get warm and turn off every 2 seconds. Location is fine only if you want to party.

The atmosphere at Xberger was good, every one was very friendly and there is every thing you need, the rooms and bathrooms are clean and there are 2 good communal spaces. The downside is that the rooms are quite cold, as are the showers. The showers don't offer much privacy, either. The kitchen is useable, but very small, only allowing one person at a time can cook dinner. If you were a group, renting out a whole room would be a great idea but the large communal sleeping room is awkward.

Very friendly, helpful staff. In a cool vibrant location and easy to find.

Really great location if you are looking for a cool, East-side of Berlin place. Right next to some pretty famous street art and the East Side Gallery, as well as some of the biggest clubs in Berlin. The security was lacking and the motion sensor lights went off on me while I was taking a shower; plus the beds were comically small--but I was paying a whopping 10euro AND right after New Years!
