Security and location are EXCELENT, staff was kind and helpful, atmosphere is like in two-star hotel but definitely not like in a hostel (4 points out of 5), cleanlinnes EXCELENT, value for money is good because full breakfast is included, and facilities are EXCELENT. Thank you so much for your service, I hope to return soon :)

Great value! One of the best deals I've seen in Europe. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the location was good, and the breakfast had a great variety of good food and drinks!

A huge hostel with many rooms. We got one that was fairly stuffy but overall clean and tidy. paying for sheets is a little strange

There isn't much to do in Trieste. However, this hotel was a lot better than what I expected: great breakfast, clean showers, clean beds, and wi-fi worked everywhere. The check-in hours was not until later in the afternoon, but when I arrived in the morning, the staff still let me checked in to my room, which I thought it was very nice. I would definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Trieste.

Standard budget accommodation. Don't expect anything good, just normal old hotel with old beds. Staff is very friendly and helpful. And breakfast is very good with plenty of choices and local produce. You would, however, expect a lower price by the condition of the rooms.

Not a really a hotel, not really a hostel. it's a weird mix. the vibe kinda sucks. definitely not great for meeting people. the breakfast is awesome! the rooms are pretty weird, it really just can't decode what kind of place it wants to be

Good breakfast. Beds are side by side, without privacy. But it is ok for a hostel.

Much better than expected, met some great people and was impressed with free breakfast. Good little city to explore and great place to stay. Would recommend.

The breakfast was incredibly good. There were different food variety and the coffee machine was great too! The rooms are clean as well.

Excellent ratio price/quality Recommanded

Well located, 5mn away from bus station and 10 from the city center. Stayed on the 1st floor of the building the hotel's in where you have 4/5 rooms with several beds in it and bathrooms & lockers outside the rooms. It looked depressing, sheets looked like theyve been in use for 20 years, matresses are covered in stains, and one window in my room didnt close (it seems to be but when you try to open it still,it opens) which is bad since all people from the apartment can access that window...

We only stayed here for one night passing through Trieste. The beds were very comfortable, breakfast was great and staff were welcoming. The hostel seemed clean but dated and could do with being refreshed. For a one or two night stay we would stay here again for the low price we paid, however for longer than that you may want something more accommodating. It's also a difficult place to meet other young travellers.

Not a hostel and therefore lacking in any sort of traveller atmosphere, but pretty good as far as budget hotels go. Decent location, and the free breakfast was great.

The breakfast was excellent. Apart from that it is about a 15 20 minute walk from the train station so if you have a lot of luggage get a taxi. This is not a party hostel, there was zero noise after 9pm. People were older and up very early not that that is a problem at all just if your looking for a party hostel this is not the place. I would stay here again.

Nothing to complain about. Nice little hotel, perferct for student budgets and the situation is very convienient (short distance to railway statipn and city centre) although the view is a bit bleak. The door to the hotel is a bit hard to find so if you are having trouble with it, just ask a local they are usually helpful and polite! Maybe knowing some italy may come in handy though.

The Alabarda is a bit spartan. I liked it that way. The tone of the place is relaxing. This is a grand old building with an exposed elevator and a beautiful doorway which, I suppose, some might not notice or fully appreciate. This is a good place to stay and I highly recommend Trieste. Walking around that town put a smile on my face.

Breakfast was great. Room was bit cold.
