Be prepared to walk uphill for a few blocks from nearest metro. Otherwise, a clean place in a fairly good location (near shopping and some restaurants) with decent amenities (incl. buffet breakfast, wifi, great ensuite). Bed itself was comfortable but pillows gave me a stiff neck. :( Most sights in Porto within about 20m walking distance, incl across the river where the port cellars are!Be prepared to walk uphill for a few blocks from nearest metro. This was an excellent value hotel with great breakfast and helpful staff. If you are after fun go to a hostel or make your own.

for the price - AMAZING!! you have a real hoTel, where rooms are cleaned and beds are straightened up every day!! Staff is nice and helpful, breakfast is very stabile and good and that too is for the price GREAT!!! not much fun and action though, but it's not a hostel, so if you want privacy and silence and a nice place with all the facilities you need - this is your place!! really GOOD place for that money! thank you to the whole staff!!for the price - AMAZING!! you have a real hoTel, where rooms are cleaned and beds are straightened up every day!! Our stay in Hotel America was great! The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Parking was very handy, and breakfast was delicious. The value for money was second to none. The hotel is well situated in the upper part of a very long street which brings you straight into the centre.
