Mosquito nets on the window as I was badly bitten on the first night.

Rather bad experience. When we arrived, staff at reception did not speak English or French. No big deal; but then we were given a room with three single beds, while I had booked for a double bed room (clearly written on my reservation). This was fixed on the second night. Also, no breakfast, while this was also supposed to be included according to reservation. There may be some sync issue between hostelworld and hotel, but I don't know and that's not my problem anyway. Staff smoke at the desk.

Worst Hotel experience so far. Room facing very busy street - cars and people, windows had to stay shut. However, room had been facing the sun for all day long (highs of 35 degrees), it was boiling, and the aircon was not working! The cheek of the receptionist, playing dumb he didn't know how to work the air-con remote, instead of admitting it was broken. And did not give us another room, lying about availability - although I could book another room through the website. Very dodgy location too

The staff was super helpful and patient with us. Some of them speak better English than others, but we managed to communicate with a combo of English, broken Italian, and Google Translate.

The directions to get to this hostel were a bit confusing, so we ended up taking a cab to the hotel. Once we got there we realized how easy it was to get there from the train station. The workers were very helpful telling us what we could do in Genoa and other information. The hotel is right across the street from the port which is nice but a bit far from the historical center. They had air condition which was great!!
