Property Information:
Opened in 1948, Hotel Azzi has historical roots, owning the third oldest licence in Florence. It was originally part of a monastery which, since the 14th century, hosted travellers and pilgrims. Its combination of culture and hospitality has made it a favourite place for artists, writers, painters and theatre people.
Today Hotel Azzi is still a meeting point, a place for an exchange of information about what's on in town. It's a real 'pension', unique in its non-conventional look and yet its attention to detail and its friendly, original atmosphere. On the premises, decorated with paintings by artists who sojourned here, special evenings are often taking place, dedicated to art exhibitions and concerts: the owners are noted musicians and theatrical artists.
On the ground floor there are three suites of different colour, decorated with antique or particular furniture. One suite even has a jacuzzi!
On the first floor we have 12 large, bright rooms with private bathrooms, most of them facing a quiet courtyard. Each one is particular and different from one other; they are furnished with antique and vintage pieces.
A selection of books, records or special aromas is available on request.

As a student traveling in Italy, I am used to staying in the most desperate of hostels in order to save a few euros. Considering I was only staying one night in Florence I thought that that was the bargain I had made once again but I was very wrong. Hotel Azzi is actually a HOTEL not a hostel. The rates for rooms were less than the other hostels in the area but we were afforded every amenity that you find at hotels. It was such a welcome change. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
