Hostel is in the center it is only it`s advantage. They mentioned 24 hour receprion on the web site, while booking we put arrivial time 7 am. no where was mentioned when the check in is,after arriving at 8 am,we had to wait until 14 pm to check in. They charged us extra 2 EU per person for a high season which they didn`t mention in the web site.1 small shower combined with the toilet for the whole floor. Really old almost dead bed..

We were changed from Hotel Casa Linger, to Hostel Astoria a few weeks prior to arrival. The Hostel was in a good location, and breakfast was included. It was adequate for the price, however the rooms were average, the bathroom was tiny (shower/toilet in one) and the hostel itself was very noisy. Staff were ok, overall feeling of the hostel was not great. Ok if you just need a place to sleep while you explore Venice, which is gorgeous!

Didn't actually stay in Casa Linger. It was being renovated, so they booked us into Hotel Astoria for the same price. Location was great, but nothing else was. There was no common room or kitchen. Our room was clean, but cots were uncomfortable. The fee for wi-fi was very high. I don't know what Casa Linger was actually like, but Hotel Astoria represented them poorly and I would not recommend either place. It probably wasn't, but it felt like a bate ans switch.

There was some problem with the hostel, so they transfered us to another hotel. This other hotel was very good, with very friendly staff and good location.

This ostel was terrible. It is part of the Casa Linger Hotel. You have to walk up four flights of stairs to get to the check in desk then they tak eyou accross the street to one bedroom with four beds. There is no common room, no kitchen area. Literally four beds, a toilet, and shower. There is nowhere to lock your stuff up, no maps, no wifi. You basically pay tons of money for an uncomfortable bed. Also on a semi-main road so you can hear people outside all night.

They have not even swept the cobwebs on the staircase away. With water leaking from the tap and the horsebung detached from the toilet... However, the staff were friendly.

as i guess it is very common for venice hostels that they change your place of stay in last minutes. so that was compeletly we saw in casa linger. when we arrive there the guy on reception told us that because of some problems they should be taken us to one another place near casa linger. although they made a half price discount new place was enough bad to make us unhappy. first of all it's bathroom was not clean and not friendly for use. then building itself also was not clean...

It's slightly difficult to rate this hotel based on that criteria. If you need a nice, clean place in Venice so that you can travel around the city this place is excellent. If you are traveling with kids and need to entertain them I might choose someplace else. The private bathroom and shower were awesome. It's very quiet, if you are staying on the main floor the check-in/out are right outside your door. We had to nicely ask some people to keep it down. It's a short 5 minute walk to St.Marks sq.

The location and staff are good. But where I lived the 4-bed dorm is in another tradition Venitian building from the reception. It's clean but not good, especially the bed and the water pipe of the bath room. Considering the price, it's ok.

Staff were absolutely nice and helpful. The place is exactly what you can expect from a one star hotel, basic and clean. I stayed in a quiet side building which had refurbished rooms, but are the bathrooms the ones that really need renovation, although they were kept tidy. The location is just amazing, full of venetian life, off the tourist tracks.
