This hotel is extremely close to Jemaa el-Fnaa, less than 30 steps away and about 10 minute drive from the train station in Marrakech. Since we had only made the booking an hour before arriving they did not have our information but we were still able to get a room. We had four beds in our room and they were clean. Only problem is the hot water ran out really quickly. But we at least were able to get it. Breakfast on the terrace was nice as well.

The staff was very helpful answering the myriad of questions I had before my trip and on-site. I am ever so grateful. However, since the hotel has no heating, I do not recommend it for a winter stay. Having a cold room is one thing, but a humid and cold room quite another. The hotel has no warm common room/spaces where to dry your jacket after a rainy day in town. But the showers were hot and the location is great. The 2 day desert trip and Essaouira trip I booked through them were also great!

Very convenient location, easy to find. Staff are very helpful, and happy to book bus tickets etc.. Very good breakfast.

Hotel very ok., but breakfast service miserable. For every coffee extra you have to pray, and the man isn't oranized

Location is excellent, just few meters far from main Square, but very quite. Staff is very friendly, they helped us with everything we needed.

This place is unbeatable for location. It is basic, but a step above the other very cheap places in the vicinity.

You get what you have to expect for this price I guess. It was neither bad nor really good. Breakfast was ok. The location is great. The room was not very clean and we had no rubbish bin at the room and they don´t change the towels or clean the room in the time you stay (maybe if you ask for it?). I think the word "Hotel" is to big, it is more of a hostel. We had hot water, though nothing to hang your towel.

Hotel Cecil stands out for me because their staff really go above and beyond to help wherever they can. The owner, Mohamed, went to the bus station to buy our tickets, took care of laundry at a very reasonable price, and accommodated several unusual requests. The hostel is a block off the main square, so you're in the middle of the action, but it's not overly noisy. Also, rooms and shared bathrooms were clean, the WiFi worked fine, and the views from the roof were great.

This is not a hostel but a hotel, so there is next to no atmosphere. Our twin beds were basic, not the most comfortable but functional. Facilities were clean. The shared showers were varied in quality- I had a great, normal one (less than 10min) and my partner used the same shower but it had no water pressure and for some reason the cold water did not work. The breakfast was nice and simple - freshly squeezed orange juice, tea/coffee and croissants/breads. location is hard to beat.

We weren't exactly sure what to expect because it was so cheap, but it was perfect. We got a private en suite room which was huge and clean with a comfy bed and amazing shower. The staff were friendly and helpful and most spoke good English. They always stopped to chat and they helped us out when we forgot our adapter plug. The location is so good - you walk out onto the medina but it's not too noisy and if it gets too much you can watch it from the roof terrace. Breakfast was basic but fine too

Nice stay Breakfast sometimes can take a while to come, apart from that everything was good. Opposite the main square.

Only stayed one night, but wish we'd stayed longer! Great courtyard, location, and friendly staff.

we first got to the hotel and had to call the front desk cause the bed wasnt made, wich they fixed after a long time of waiting... at 11 pm :/ you can hear the music and chanting of the medina plaza from your room (our room had a window that faced the street) wich we liked. Breakfast included, its okay but GET READY TO WAIT FOR A LONG TIME!! Kind of ridiculous since its just a hard egg and bread 0.0 overall its an ok stay. Shared bathrooms are clean but they could use something to hold towels

Great place; but one of our bathrooms had a strange smell

All the staff were really helpful. The guy at reception was particularly helpful, giving advice about trips, good places to eat, sites and even helping to sort out a taxi to take us to various places which was so good when I had more limited mobility due to a repairing ankle fracture. And he was very flexible when we needed to make alterations to our original booking duration. Towels were available. Breakfast was fantastic! The location is hard to beat. I can highly recommend Hotel Cecil.

Amazing location less than a minute off the main medina square. The rooms are neat and the WiFi is the best I've had in Morocco. The only issue are bed bugs (in room 9). The front desk staff didn't seem bothered when informed about this. Note that this is more of a hotel setting and not a hostel, so don't expect much of a community.

Superb location but still quite at night, friendly & attentive Staff and big Room (stayed in the 3rd Floor). Terrace is perfect for having your free Breakfast and enjoying the sounds from the Djemaa El Fna. If they put a little bit more attention to some small details it could be a perfect stay (bathroom smells - we closed the drains with a plastic bag and it was fine - , no shower curtain, nothing to hang the towel, more staff for breakfast). WiFi in our room and Terrace was working fine.

Awesome location! Under a minute to the main square. The wifi was a downer - kept switching off. The staff was very helpful and provided me with directions to get around.
