Clean, tidy and comfortable. Good price for relaxed Riad right by the main square.

Excellent location, clean and very good value for an en-suite private room. We stay at two hostels during the trip and the other one scores very high (number one) from the review and Hotel Cecil does not score well. But we actually like Hotel Cecil much much better than the other one. Hotel Cecil is very suitable for mature and want to have a good sleep without partying atmosphere.

Our stay in Marrakesh was absolutely brilliant, the best choice for the Easter Weekend! And Hotel Cecil was one reason - clean, friendly staff, authentic atmosphere and in the perfect location to explore this vibrant city! We highly recommend the hotel!

They wouldn't let my girlfriend and I stay because we weren't married and couldn't produce a marriage certificate, even though we are both americans. They also wouldn't refund our money. Absolutely ludicrous! They claim it's a law but the truth is the law only applies to moroccans, not foreigners. We ended up staying at Riad Douja, about 60 feet away. I am furious. disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone. I spit on their lack of hospitality and common courtesy. AVOID!!!

Owner Comment (Show)
The law is clear: umarried couples where one or both partners are Moroccan or Muslim are not allowed to share a hotel room, let alone a Double bed as booked by this guest. Note that this law does not apply to tourists where neither of them are Moroccan or Muslim.

This hostel is extremely well situated - right by the main hub of activity! The complimentary breakfasts on the roof terrace were a welcome start to each morning too and are not to be missed!

Really nice hostel! The location is perfect, just a few meters off the Djema-el-fna place! Nice roof terrace and breakfast! Felt very secure, we booked another week in that hostel!

No frills hotel, with good value for money rooms. Clean and literally less than a minute walk from the Djemaa el Fna square (although the actual alley it is in might seem a little dodgy at first).
