It was a great hotel and really close to both JR station Shin-imamiya and Metro (although we didn't take the metro during our trip).

It was OK... clean like any other hotels in Japan... The receptionist is not very helpful or friendly tho...

Do Not stay here! The rude un-helpful reception staff ruined it. Everything else is good. But when you check in or out or ask for advise the staff here give the Japanese culture a bad name. I have traveled alone and stayed all over Japan and have enjoyed meeting all the friendly helpful people. I was shocked and upset when I stayed here. I will never stay here again.

I wasn't there for very long, but the staff was very nice and efficient and the accommodations were top notch. The only thing I would say is that they provide lockers that are not lockable in the rooms. Other than that, I think they take great care of their guests and that there are a lot of useful amenities. I would stay there again.

We stayed here one night in a 4 bed dorm. It was clean and the beds were comfy enough. The lockers in the room where broken but there are lockers in the lobby big enough to store valuables when you go out. Good location for subway and overground.

We found the Hostel to be very clean, a great price, and had good computer facilities. At check in we were given a 'goodie bag' of clean linnen inc. towels, slippers and a Japanese style dressing gown. The rooms included a tooth brush and mini tooth paste but no soaps. We found the kitchen was lacking in equipment and space however I would recommend the hostel to friends and family. WiFi was also a bonus in the dorm room.

New and clean, lounge in the lobby with internet terminals. wifi on every floor and very high speed internet via cable (1 per room.) The best thing about this place is probably the price of their single private rooms 3300Yen and you get your own decent sized room with bathroom, semi-double bed, desk, bar fridge, tv, armchair. I came back again and again. Location is good for JR rail pass people as it is on both JR and regular subway lines near some main attractions but nothing south of this area

By pretty much every measure, Chuo Selene is a great hostel. It is clean, new, and spacious. The staff is very helpful with all questions/concerns. That being said, if you are looking for the stereotypical hostel atmosphere, you won't find it here. The location has its positives and negatives. It is a great place to enjoy some Osaka style eats such as kushi katsu. However, the area is a bit rundown. Although, anyone who has lived in a large city will probably not take much issue with this.

Pros: 1 block from JR, 3 from Nankai line to Kansai; one block from a big eating street (juan juan); johnny cash/elvis on the lobby intercom Cons: area is a little dirty, by japanese standards

It would be great if the lockers in the room can be fixed as soon as possible which is more convenience for guests in future.
