Hotel Chuo Selene was a clean and comfortable hospitality. Location was very close to subway station (dobutsuen mae, 1 min walks) and JR Shin Imamiya Station (2 min walks) that also provided direct line to Kansai International Airport. 100 Yen coin locker (actually for free) was really helpful during my on-off staying in Osaka on 21-24 May 2012.

As the name suggests this is a hotel, not a hostel. They have a couple of shared dorm rooms on the top floor but it seemed to me that most of the guests were hotel guests. So the atmosphere isn't the greatest, but on the plus side it is very clean, there is an in-suite shower and bathroom, and it has all the basic things you need. Location is ok - close to spa world and just walkable to the namba area.

I am fully satisfied. Stayed 1 night more than expected. Location is great. Subway and direct train to the Kansai apt. very close. Spaworld next door is another great asset.

Great hostel at a great price. Best part of town to be in, with the alleyways of the older part of town just round the corner, and only 2 stops to Namba. Would definately stay here again!

I stayed for only one night at the Chuo Selene on a quick stopover. I did not expect much from the hotel but was extremely positively surprised. Even though the hotel is located in not-the-best-part-of-town the hotel appears brand new, the rooms are clean and comfortable with a nice shower and toilet and the wifi connection is flawless. Free coffee, good service and very efficient and easy subway access (20 m) i.e. 5 mins from Namba station. Recommended for stopovers!

It was a great hotel and really close to both JR station Shin-imamiya and Metro (although we didn't take the metro during our trip).

Do Not stay here! The rude un-helpful reception staff ruined it. Everything else is good. But when you check in or out or ask for advise the staff here give the Japanese culture a bad name. I have traveled alone and stayed all over Japan and have enjoyed meeting all the friendly helpful people. I was shocked and upset when I stayed here. I will never stay here again.
